The little pocket dynamo scored the only goal in a 1-0 win, recording our 2nd away win of the season

It was Stans 1st game of the season & his 2nd start in total after starting a game & sub the previous season

Pat Cuff's 2nd game of the season, was named in goal for 10 consecutive games, then Jiim Platt & finally Dave Brown, 10 games, to see who would rival, if any, Jim Platt for the No1 jersey going forward

Remember as a nipper walking down Hutton Road every morning going to school ( Thomo’s ) . We used to stop at the gates waiting for the players . Jack had a big Range Rover which were rare in those days , and later days Stan had a red VW Golf with sponsorship written all over it . Stan was same height as us 😎 ( note little head )

I’ve said before he lived next door but one to me when he signed for the boro. I walked back from the bus stop with him, either after his first game or training session. His car was being towed away as we walked up the street, it was a right scrapper, probably why he got one on a sponsorship.
