Relegated threatened Boro played Notts County at Ayresome Park & we were in desperate needs of points to pull away from the foot of the table
The 1st half of the season, Bobby Murdochs as manager, was one bad one, we had slowly started to improve, not that it took much, since the turn of the year & in the last 8 league fixtures we had lost 2, though we had drawn too many with 4 games drawn, winning just 2
The arrival of midtable Notts County gave us a chance to get the 3 points needed
Boro won the game 3-0 with all defenders scoring the goals & all 1st league goals for the Boro, the last 4 games 2 won, 2 drawn with no goals conceded, a vast improvement
Darren Woods scored 1st, Joe Bolton added the 2nd, his only Boro goal & Ian Bailey adding the 3rd, Ian Bailey had scored for the Boro in the FAC v WBA
