LNER apologises after staff said 'good afternoon ladies and gentlemen'

The complaint was made by a rail workers' union rep who identifies as non-binary and was travelling on the train when the manager greeted passengers using the popular phrase.

What has that got to do with more people voting Tory? The PM is a vile, sick, corrupt racist and not sure why this story would drive none vile, sick, corrupt or racist people towards his party?

Because things like that drive people to the right cos of woke nonsense the left push. The right is growing there is no denying that.

Personally, I think the article is rubbish and if the person is offended it is indeed PC gone mad. However, as I’m not a racist plank I am not driven towards the right by it.

In fact I see those on the right who love nothing better than calling people snowflakes getting themselves all worked up if someone calls them a gammon.

Neither am I, but hartlepool is proof when xenophobic people (UKIP) who used to vote Labour now move over to the tories

I doubt that many of them do that because of being an overly Pc world though. It’s more likely that they’ve shifted to the right because our government, sadly, has become horrendously xenophobic and nationalist which has in turn allowed some voters to feel their previously hidden prejudices are somehow legitimised.
 
The train company should add this list to the script to welcome people on board or just refer to people as "people"

What about guide dogs?
 
Everone has the right to be offended by something that they feel effects them. However they also have to accept that others have the right to not give a f##k that they are offended over somethings.
 
The same people spouting bile at this will be the ones who had #BeKind all over their social media not that long ago.

If you can make a simple and easy alteration to a greeting so as to include everyone then it shows you up if you're not prepared to do it. It's not about everyone having to accept the latest terms and being au fait with complicated vocabulary, it's just simple politeness and good manners.
 
I will admit to not getting the whole non binary, trans issue at all and it confuses the hell out of me. As far as I am concerned, you're either male or female, end of story. I guess that makes me old fashioned. This story is just a load of old hogwash from the Mail.
