Not quite what is getting at. In the parliamentary hearing Cummings was asked to provide evidence and he didn't and is now releasing snippets for his own agenda. He can do that due to parliamentary priveledgeCummings does not need to be dragged into court. He is out in the open and on the internet making allegations about Hancock and Johnson.
He has no parliamentary privilege so anybody who he is lying about is quite at ease to sue.
But the response from Downing Street is not to deny what Cummings is saying, but to assert that the public is not interested.
