£150 Council tax rebate, property A-D anyone had it yet?

My house is band E but it cost below the national average. It's a new build so I also have to pay a management fee because the council won't adopt the estate (who haven't even taken over the running of the estate yet so that is also money for nothing). Council tax has gone up over £100 as well. Energy up about £160 per month. The rebate would only make a small dent in that but would have been nice.

I would keep an eye on your council’s website. There is additional discretionary funds available for those in higher bands and HMO’s. We are using the same online portal that the test and trace support grants were issued through. Although no decisions have been made on what the qualifying criteria are, as yet.

Mine is band E too (in N Yorkshire ) and I know that I shall be getting nothing. Considering that the £200 is pretty useless considering they claim it back then it`s all all a meaningless government exercise to me.

Just give us all a month off paying Council Tax. Certain members of society will be straight down the Tanning and nail barn, just saying like.

People can do what they want with it. £200 certainly isnt going 'help' with my bills as I know what goes out each month. I go abroad next month I hope it comes soon so I can get more Euros ;)

No it's done through your local loan shark company.
Well I knew there wouldnt be a bailiff at the door! I'd seen it mentioned about the £200 but I thought you had to apply for it as it was a 'loan'. I didnt realise it was getting paid automatically

Isn't it just knocked off your energy bill and then reclaimed over how many months?

Most councils I work with are waiting on both their software suppliers to make the necessary adjustments to their system to allow the payments to be made and for the first payment of council tax to be made by Direct Debit so that they can confirm that the bank account being paid back to is valid. Payments should start landing end of April / start of May in that case.

For those who don't pay by Direct Debit, they can still claim the £150 rebate but they will have to make an application to the council and provide bank details, which the council need to validate one way or another, and then they will be paid the money. All of this needs to be done by September 30th. Alternatively you can ask for it to be applied directly to your council tax account.
Thanks for this, good to know👍

I need two new car tyres. So comes in handy. I'll worry about the heating next Xmas.

I've turned it off. Missues is making our like it's the South pole😂

To be fair it's probably better late in the year as its meant to be for fuel assistance. I imagine I'd spend it in a week and not on fuel if I got it now (many will).

II suppose October / November would be better for actual heating assistance. I guess it depends on what you've earmarked it for.
