What book are you currently reading?

A Long Long Way, by Sebastian Barry - really enjoying so far. Going to read The New Jackals by Simon Reeve next, anyone read it?

What does Middlesbrough need to do to become a city?

Whether Middlesbrough is labelled a town or a city I think it's window dressing really. The reality of what I see is a town that feels like it's dying, as does Stockton in the same way. The north east and teesside especially has been criminally neglected for decades and the current situation...

Good deal (legal) on Sky Cinema

One man's meat and all that 😂 I gave up after half an hour 🤷

Good deal (legal) on Sky Cinema

To be fair the Barbie movie is a total no brainer 😂

    Dele Alli

I think it will depend upon his drive and ambition - sometimes adversity can drive someone on to achive their aims, I really hope he can because he seems like a very genuine and humble fella.

    New Broadband Deal Required

Looking for new ISP, how can I tell if fibre is available at my address - looking at Youfibre and their website checker says I have, but I'm not sure that's true?

    Maddo constantly criticising Engel

I think any honest assessment of Engel would be similar to Giles last season; better coming forward than defending. He started the season terribly but has continued to improve game by game. I'm still not sure why Thomas sometimes gets in ahead of him, but he seems a strong character and...

I see I've joined the 10,000 plus message club

I've got the same amount of points from half the number off messages. Clearly I favour quality over quantity 😎

Just selling a car on carwow

I've just sold mine, albeit to a local dealer, after firstly auctioning on carwow. Webuyanycar offered a relative pittance initially, but they've since increased their offer twice.

Appearances totals of key players in 23-24, why we missed out.

This is the take away for me; I think Carrick (and the squad) have done well to be so close to the top 6, given a combination of injuries and new players bedding in, mainly youngsters and players with no championship experience.

Michael Carrick post match interview Vs Ipswich

Of course we all hoped we'd sneak in, but it has very much been a reality for some months now that our chances were very small and that's proved to be the case.

Michael Carrick post match interview Vs Ipswich

I don't think it was an "attitude", rather a reality. It's been exceptionally unlikely that we'd make the playoffs for a long time now and remains so, but I'm glad we're having a strong finish because it augers well for next seasons chances.

The Ang Rayner Protest in Yarm

To be clear my currency has lapsed a little and I have no direct experience of Steve Turner, although what I do know of him would suggest your view is fairly accurate. I think policing in general has been overly politicised over the last decade, firstly with the introduction of the OPCC's and...

The Ang Rayner Protest in Yarm

Having been on the recieving end of such things I couldn't disagree more.

The Ang Rayner Protest in Yarm

I think that's a little unfair; this government has a history of making vexatious complaints to the police, but they are then duty bound to carry out a proportionate investigation, which is what I'm sure they'll do, only to give there isn't any evidence to substantiate the allegations. It's...

    Coughing

I read somewhere that it was a bout of whooping cough, or at least that's what it's used to be known as, not sure how accurate that is. I got it at New Year and still have an irritating cough now - three to four months isn't uncommon apparently

    Marten de Roon

It was obvious that he was a good player when he was here, very mobile and athletic and could play a bit too. I get why we used him further forward, given how much he influenced games for us, verses out other midfielders. Of all of business that summer he was probably the best.
