I’m disappointed, but not unhappy with tonight. I thought we did well, that they were good. It was a stupid second goal, but on balance at any other time in the season it’s a good point. If we miss out, it wasn’t tonight that cost us. It was a season full of injuries.

I think Engel may have started out as a striker. I think I read that somewhere… I don’t think Engel is naturally a wing back, or at least needs to play with more composure and less instinct. Edit. He was a left winger at Velje.

I like Engel, but he needs more composure with the ball. I wonder how he would get on in a Jones role, with Thomas behind him. If Engel is going to misplace a pass occasionally, I’d rather he wasn’t the last man when he did it.

I don’t think McGree was choosing his games, to favour his international role at all. The initial foot injury occurred during a match where he came off injured, even indicating that the underside of his foot was being a problem, as he left the pitch. It’s known to be an awkward injury to cure...
