I didn’t hear a peep out of them all afternoon. Normally they have a good away following. Plenty of them there, but didn’t contribute anything to the atmosphere.

I thought that the ref last night was one of the better ones. He ignored Preston players rolling on the ground when they were tackled and was very sparing with the yellow cards. Got most decisions right, and let the game flow well.

I really enjoyed the game today. Five cracking goals, no time wasting by either team, and helped by a ref who didn’t blow his whistle for fair but physical tackles. The hat-trick was the icing on the Christmas cake!
