3 thick layers of clothing and sun tan lotion - down to 9.9 hcap

Just a quick insight into the January golfing experience in southern Spain. We have a 09:00 shotgun start. So I am getting ready to go to the course. I have a thick long sleeved photo shirt on. With a fleece and an insulated jacket. I then had to put sun tan lotion on my face. To ensure I do...

Give me hot water - might you move to Spain?

Can anyone suggest a good set up for an on demand hot water recirculation system with a return line? For deployment in Europe. Suitable for a small apartment with 3 sinks and a shower. On demand, seems to be popular in the USA. Not as much in Europe. It is where you use a Bluetooth button (or...

Golf clinic in the sunshine in December - Pablo Larrazábal-

Yesterday we had a golf clinic with Pablo Larrazábal. A multiple winner on the European golf tour. It was a group of around 20 of us in total. He spent around 25 minutes demonstrating and teaching us as a group. Including answering any questions we had. Then we each got a bit of individual...

Which Co-op did your family use and what was your membership number?

Belle Vue and 52121. From the 1960s for me. Why do I still remember that number? When I cannot always remember if I have put a sweetener in a cup of tea/coffee I make for the missus.

Triggered by https://fmttmboro.com/index.php?threads/your-fave-britpop-act-then-and-now.52251/ For me the 90s is a decade that passed me by musically. I feel there were just a few good to great songs here and there. Can anyone remember what they believe was great 90s music? That can compare...

    Domingo(s) to follow Ciarán

Looks like mainland Spain is soon to get hit by the next storm after Ciarán. At least it has got a Spanish sounding name this time. The article here cannot decide on it being called the singular or plural of Sunday. (Or it is just a typo.)...

Enjoying practicing skills you learned some time ago

Some time ago my wife and I were partners in a golf shop. With two close friends of ours. One of the skills my friend Alan taught me was regripping clubs. I do not use the skill that often now. Just for my clubs, my wife's and those of a few close friends. When I was helping out in the shop it...

Walking to school in the 60s and 70s

I was just thinking of how far we used to walk regularly by ourselves (without adults) in the 60s and 70s in Middlesbrough. My journey to school varied between around 15 to 20 minutes walk each day. Depending on which school it was. So different for kids now I guess.

    And Away - Bob Mortimer

A friend of ours told me a few days ago that she had just finished reading Bob Mortimer's autobiography. So I thought I would give it a go. I think it is a good read with references to places I remember from when I was a kid. Very enjoyable. Corrected: includes a lot about 2015 heart problems...
