New York Times evaluation of Boris

The only thing I think makes Boris look good in this, is that Trump's even worse. Oh, and Rishi Sunak seems to be doing a decent job, to be fair.

Prince Charles Philip Arthur George Windsor.

My boss' wife is a GP, she came down with symptoms a couple of weeks' back. After a week of self-isolation, she's back at work. It would be very useful for her to know if she was now immune or not, but no - there's not testing for NHS staff who aren't seriously ill.

Prince Charles Philip Arthur George Windsor.

Whether you agree with the royal family or not, he was supposedly in close contact with Prince Albert of Monaco, who revealed he tested positive *before* Prince Charles then travelled up to Deeside (an area without very much in the way of Coronavirus), which is very much not a good idea. He also...

is it time to issue ration cards?

I remember the panic-buying of petrol a few years back. Two local garages took different paths; one hiked the prices sky high, the other kept the prices the same but limited people to £20 worth. Which garage do I still go to? People do remember.

    'Chinese Virus'

I would think the main problem is that the virus has a correct name and it's important to not cloud the issue and advice that's coming out by confusing people with multiple names. The guidelines for naming these things has been updated to ensure that it's not linked to a place, a group of...

Yeah, I'm in lockdown also. Mind you, I have a dry cough and had a fever a couple of nights ago, so it could well be.

Plans for Middlesbrough underground network leaked

Even if it were genuine, we'd probably only get the Central Line built before they gave up. Which would be around 200m in total. With 4 stations.

Anyone else keeping their kids off school?

Waiting to hear back from the exam board, eldest daughter is supposed to be having a speaking French exam on Thursday. That's probably not happening!

When do we decide to close our borders.

They're the ones that are tracked by satellite. Apparently.

Anyone else keeping their kids off school?

Yep. Both me and my daughter have a cough/fever, as such the whole family is in lock-down. Normally, I'd still be cycling to work if I felt like this.

The reason people are stocking up is

Was in Costco earlier when they restocked the loo roll. The number of people going to the checkouts with several lots of 40 rolls was astounding. I must admit that I was tempted to buy some, it’s easy to get carried along by a crowd.

Where the hell has the British blitz spirit gone

Civilisation it a pretty thin veneer. Two missed meals would turn a lot of people.

Where the hell has the British blitz spirit gone

Was there ever a blitz spirit? Or do people who weren’t there just assume that things were better in the old days? During the propaganda machine of wartime Britain, it would have been important for the country’s morale to not mention the looting, murders and rapes taking place under the cover of...

What’s the official cause of this virus

Well, since Trump keeps meeting people who are testing positive, we'll soon see if he comes down with it.

What’s the official cause of this virus

Fish also live in rivers and lakes, though. From what I've heard the market in Wuhan also sold wildlife for eating. Bats in China apparently live fairly happily with about 400 different strains of coronavirus, it's possible they can be transmitted to humans. It's very likely that this was the...
