Gateshead are doing well in the National League & could even go up this year -sustaining their position, given their poor crowds, is an issue.     I came across these by accident. They cover the late 50s period only - basically the Clough years . Interesting stats , plus a brief written summary of each season. I wonder why only this period has been covered, and whether there are plans to cover more seasons?

    Isaacs has the best selection of ale near the station. I quite like the Zetland, but it usually only has one ale on, & it can be variable. Baker Street has a few micro pubs that do ale, but it’s a treck from the station, as is the Chapel, which sells the best ale in town Liqueur Vaults and Pig...

    What did you drink as a student

    during freshers week, I saw a stall for CAMRA. Had to ask what it was. Suffice to say it changed my drinking habits - previously a pint of keg down the club with my dad, or lager & lime if on a night out.
