    Question for the decorating experts…

Yeah, agree that he has been inconvenienced on many occasions for something out of his control so I don’t want him to inconvenience him anymore. However there is a little twist in the story as these repairs should be covered on our buildings insurance. But, as the premiums will Sky rocket our...

    Question for the decorating experts…

Yeah, we are now going level and strengthen the floor, add tanking under the shower and tile over the existing tiles. Unfortunately, I’ve had too many repairs by handmen who fairly much just carry out temporary fixes over and over again

    Question for the decorating experts…

Unfortunately my bathroom is prone to leaks and when it does it stains my neighbours ceiling below and I have to pick up the repair bill. However, each time it happens he insists on a full ceiling repaint rather than a touch up. Now I understand his frustration and the inconvenience caused...

    Any Non-fiction book recommendations?

I'm travelling a lot with work right now and need to be a bit grown up and stop playing on my phone the whole time. So i've bought myself a kindle but don't know what books to start searching for. Previously, i've read a few books on Auschwitz and life inside Thai prisons (a bit dark i know)...

Nice place to visit without leaving the car!

I am sure you could ask thousands questions now given the opportunity. It’s probably a similar reason why I want to spend some time with my dad this weekend. He has a major stroke last year and was admitted to hospital for three months. At the time all hospital visitors were banned due to...

Nice place to visit without leaving the car!

Strange question, but would anybody have any good suggestions for a journey out without having to leave the car? My dad had a major stroke and can’t really walk more than a few metres now. I work overseas and I’m coming home to see him this next weekend. I intend driving him to a country pub...

Does anybody know of any Meetup groups for senior citizens?

Hi chaps, Apologies for the delayed response but i've had a manic few days. Going off topic slightly, there has always been one thing that has made me feel immensely proud to be from Middlesbrough and that is the local people. Regardless of who you are, where you are, your age, your gender...

Does anybody know of any Meetup groups for senior citizens?

Hi Chaps, Just wondering if any of you guys can point me in the right direction. My old man had a stroke earlier in the year and was admitted to hospital for three months. During that period my mother sadly passed away and now he is home alone learning to walk again and is very lonely...

Thanks guys - i thought that would your responses I think they have a bit of a nerve actually asking the question in the first place. They've obviously tried to cut costs without considering the consequences!

Ex-employer wanting little 'free jobs' after redunancy

Interested in people's thoughts on this.... My wife was made redundant after three years of continuous service and left the company on good terms. Now that she has left they keep sending her emails asking if she will answer a few work questions or put together a little spreadsheet for them...

WORK TO LIVE or LIVE TO WORK

Salaries are high in Switzerland and people don’t need to work crazy hours to have a good standard of living. The car parks are full of Mercs and Audis until 5pm and then it’s a mass exodus as people head home to their families. The place is like a ghost town after 5pm regardless of how busy...
