Gareth Southgate's strong message after some supporters booed when England players take the knee [Gazette]

I‘ve had loads of discussions about BLM - never met one person who supports the sentiment and supports the ‘movement’. The ‘movement’ is just another lazy excuse to ignore a plea for fairness

Gareth Southgate's strong message after some supporters booed when England players take the knee [Gazette]

Therein lies the problem Its not ‘political’ Unless fairness comes under a political banner. It probably does for some to allow them conveniently to ignore the issue.

Gareth Southgate's strong message after some supporters booed when England players take the knee [Gazette]

People are born ignorant Stupidity is learnt Some very stupid people there last night - most likely racist. They have a ’right’ to express their view, of course. As my lovely mum used to say though- if you haven’t got something nice to say then be quiet. Pleasing the majority applauded it.

    Legacy Fans

The ESL clubs appear to disagree with you The proposed model appears to be Man U (for instance) have their own subscription package for ESL games. 150m fans worldwide - you only have to charge them £1 per game and it dwarves what fans pitching up at a stadium can contribute.

    Legacy Fans

Isn’ this the old ‘I go to more games than you so I’m a better fan’ debate. A fan in China is the same as a fan in UK There are more worldwide fans for the big 6 than there are in their own countries. I don’t particularly like what they are doing but I do understand it

    Amstel Gold race

Dead heat would have been appropriate - the technology in cycling to detect a .004 second difference can’t be accurate.

European Super League to be announced tonight - 9:30pm

Just reading that central government is unlikely to have any powers to stop this. Locally though - the councils can intervene. So, Manchester/Liverpool councils could refuse them the right to use their City name. That would be fun.

Johnson at pains to point out it is Lockdown

Crikey - those lockdowns work quickly We should do more of them

Johnson at pains to point out it is Lockdown

Not the vaccine that has led to the dramatic decline in deaths and cases. Seems an odd/stupid/scientifically proven (delete as applicable) thing to say - predictable oddness/stupidity is a feature of his though so I will go with one of those.

I wonder if the royal death

I see the government are now putting a blackout on all MPs interviews as a mark of respect. Meanwhile Belfast burns...;)

I wonder if the royal death

If we are going to shut the BBC down for everyone whose life is marred in turmoil and tragedy we are going to have a fun time ahead. I guess those on food banks, on the streets, living a life of depression, those victimised because of the colour of their skin or sexuality don’t live a worthy...

I wonder if the royal death

Hang on - you are seriously saying there is no evidence of MPs trying to bury bad news? I’m not sure you have being paying attention. In other news btw babestation showed their respects by cancelling their progs last night. It’s what he would have wanted...

I wonder if the royal death

I agree with that fully It’s just that the comment usually comes to the fore after someone has died and normally trotted out (not by you btw) by those happy to say not very nice things to those living. I find that odd.

    Robert Jenrick clearly on message

All we need to understand is their motivation for putting the flag up alongside a picture of the queen. It is purely to get people to like them and vote for them. Certain people will base their voting decision on just that. The politicians aren’t always stupid.

Irish now suspend Astra Zeneca vaccine

Just to support your last point, it is reported today the volume of AZ vaccinations available to countries outside UK is low. The pause is low risk to their vaccine roll out.

    Deal done

Currency? We have only just started. Government paper said Brexit will lead to circa 4.1% decline in GDP (worse than Covid). I’ve no idea what will happen to currency but the fat lady is only just warming her vocal chords. Personal preference - I’d like it to decline. Selling a house in France...
