    "wrinkling" sounds obscene!

Palace also after Kieran Scott if Freedman goes to Saudi.

Totally agree we should go after both.

Brilliant series. Seen most of them.

Rumoured cuts to spending in Spring statement

That is one of the most depressing things I have read on here for a while. No disrespect to your son and mates but what sort of life is that. I know I am a dinosaur but good grief there is a whole world out there.

    Boro fans congratulating Newcastle...

Sometimes you just have to rise above it. They were superb today and totally dominated the best team in the country. Also nice to see a team actually play full blooded football without all the fannying around at the back. Carrick might learn something.

Didn’t Labour tell us they wouldn’t accept freebies anymore?

Fundamentally disagree. The type of event is irrelevant it's who provides it. As a public servant no gifts should be taken.

Didn’t Labour tell us they wouldn’t accept freebies anymore?

This should not be allowed full stop.

Middlesbrough Town Centre - Gazette Article

True, they used to be a thing in the day but primary legislation covers most things these days.

Not totally correct as they can make bylaws which are legally binding.

That really was the go to place wasn't it. Dread to think what their star rating would be these days.

    NHS England gone

Can't we just get back to debating the issues and put aside the other stuff. The abolition of NHSE does not appear to have been opposed by any of the posters to date. I am certain all of us who have contributed so far feel for all those who may lose jobs. Just been reading more into the...

    England squad announcement

There was lots of talk about Djed Spence pre announcement.

    NHS England gone

About 9000 examples actually. Streeting estimated today that about 9k posts will go on the abolition of NHSE. I will stand to be corrected if DHSC appoint all those posts within the Department of Health but that seems highly unlikely. As I said earlier these useless quangos spend 380 billion...

    NHS England gone

My understanding is that this Government was elected on the basis of change. I am certainly not celebrating the fact that people will lose jobs but if we are to make an honest attempt at getting the NHS back on it's feet then sadly for those involved the billions wasted on bloated back office...

    NHS England gone

This should have been done years ago to the bloated public service. More money for the front line in all services is a good thing.

    NHS England gone

I think you have hit the nail on the head there. "Lots of people doing very similar jobs". Symptomatic of the public service in my experience.

Can I ask what they actually contribute please?

Middlesbrough Town Centre - Gazette Article

What a refreshingly honest and accurate assessment from the man who actually speaks to potential developers and investors in Boro. No sugarcoating just plain honesty. Some on here will no doubt tell us it is safe but we have it from the horses mouth that it isn't.

    NHS England gone

We certainly need better managers but I would like to see what they are actually managing before I agree that we need more of them. Having worked in the public service all my working life before retirement I was aghast at the number of middle managers in policy/strategy etc who in my opinion...
