Imho the biggest difference between Karanka's Boro and any other Boro side in living memory was that, once we went one down, it was game over under Karanka

    off to see Merson tonight

I was angry about the way he left us in 1998, but when you hear his side of the story it's understandable now. Plus he hasn't said anything negative about the club itself, only the ridiculous drinking culture prevalent at the time under Robbo

Thanks for the response. Re: Instagram, not sure we can read too much into that. It's not a recent follow and he follows a number of football teams (including the likes of Southampton and Everton) on there

    Berwick Hills swimming baths

Leeds pool was a nightmare if you had to swim backstroke there (which I did when I swam for Stockton Aquatics back in the 80s). Most pools had the roof on the same way around as the pool, meaning you could follow the lines in the roof to keep yourself straight. The roof on the Leeds pool was at...

    Oasis reunion

I have represented hundreds of artists over the last 25+ years in the music industry, so am pretty happy that my view is more than anecdotal. The rates that Spotify pay could be better (especially to songwriters) but please check the BPI / IFPI revenue figures if you still believe that the...

Surprising that anecdotal evidence doesn't always tell the whole story?

    Oasis reunion

This really isn't true. The music industry was on its knees in the 10+ years before Spotify started to generate huge sums for the business. Streaming revenues changed everything and by 2015-2016 it was possible once again to make money from music sales. I know many artists who earn very well...

Want to buy a new away top from the club shop?

Does anyone know how many shirts the club sell per year on average? Wonder what the actual economics look like. The merchanise companies I have dealt with over the last 3 decades often have a very poor understanding of pricing and supply/demand strategies; I doubt the club have any more idea.

Want to buy a new away top from the club shop?

Imho the Club need to consider keeping our kits for two seasons on the trot - perhaps changing the 3rd strip if they really have to. More incentive for people to buy especially when they have supply problems every season without fail - e.g. if I can't get hold of one before Xmas I think...

People not from the Teesside area, and without a Teesside family connection, following the Boro

One more to add: a lad called James from SE London/Kent. Used to post on 606 back in the day and will be known to a few on here. His uncle apparently took him to Charlton v Boro in the early 90s, with the intention that it would be his first game as a Charlton fan. We won, and he took up...

FAO Yusuf - you’ve helped influence the biggest change in a Boro message board

The original group on COB were those from the BBC 606 Boro Board. When that shut, one of the lads (Steve) started a dedicated Messageboard. It started off well enough, but Steve didn't want to exercise any kind of censorship, which meant that slowly but surely it got overrun by the knuckle...
