Off out for a curry with the family and hopefully a glass of Kingfisher. This is a tune that people say left wing politicians just say they like- kinda political fashion if you like, I think it's been chosen by a number of famous politicians for desert island disks- Now I'm never going to get...

Rachel Reeves' latest plans - 5% efficiency savings (cuts) across all departments and budget panels of ex-bankers to determine necessary spending

Over the last 14 years council employees have almost halved, yet government employees have gone up from 380,000 to 515,000. Seems odd that councils have had to cut staff to the bone doing more with less while the Tories in government have been employing more and more to do less. Looking at...

🐙Cut your energy bills nearly in half with Octopus Tracker

I'm still on the tracker, unsure why as I have an EV and heat my home from a ASHP, but as others have said it's saved us a small fortune over the last few years, the thing about the tracker is once you leave it's quite a while before you are allowed to sign back onto it.

The weekend 🍺 and 🎶 thread

It's the wife's birthday tomorrow, so after just finishing a 15 hour shift, our son is taking us out to the Blackwell Ox at Carlton for our favourite Thai food. John Prine- This should have been called "My Woman" but he explains why it's called "Aw Heck" at the start of the song- regardless of...

What do you dislike about Christmas?

That's exactly the point I'm making, rightly or wrongly we're all taught and brought up differently. And no, I'm not saying that that's the wrong way to live your life, I try not to judge, no one has give me permission to judge them, and I'd be the last one to want want that permission. (y)

    New Cinema Mbrough

Oh my lord, this is the problem with client media, the airport lost more than £10m this year. You need to understand EBITDA and the nonsense it means.

What do you dislike about Christmas?

Sadly modern day pressures is much more than choosing for many.

    New Cinema Mbrough

Not sure this is right, I mean we can spend £150m on an airport that no one uses, so why not a couple of them millions on buses?

What do you dislike about Christmas?

3 bank holidays is not to be sniffed at, if your work contact offers you bank holidays, not all do. Quite a few in my work place don't get bank holidays, but I guess 4 on 4 off means you only work half a year anyway. And I do like family time, I just can't bare the pressure Christmas puts on...

The weekend beer and music thread!

34 years ago yesterday, 28th November 1990 A certain Margaret Thatcher walked out of Downing Street for the last time as PM. Some celebrated some didn't. I did, just like one of my all time musical hero's did. It's controversial for sure, but for many of us a musical masterpiece. Costello-...

The weekend beer and music thread!

We've been working on our estates for years and years. I'll have a glass of Red tonight after official numbers confirm that ASB has reduced by big numbers over the last 12/24 month. Of course I'm not complacent, people in my estate still suffer from others that don't care about anyone but...
