And austerity. Lots of people now understanding that they went after those least well off and it was a deliberate attack on people. All based on lies again too.

    Unrealistic expectations

I see what you mean, but that’s part of the problem and the English exceptionalism that Harry was referring to. Just because English domestic football is good, and clubs compete well in European club football, clearly doesn’t mean the national team does well. English expectations are a bit...

    Question Time

Didn’t watch it but reading the reports it sounds like the majority can see this lot of Tories for what they are. I hope it’s going to be political Armageddon for them in a few weeks.

    Unrealistic expectations

Great point about taking players only from the Premier League. I’m a huge Southgate supporter but he has made a strategic error not having another left footed full back in the squad. If he’s not keen on the other English options in the PL look at the Championship.

    Euro VAR

I’ve said it more than once. VAR is perfectly fine. It is the English implementation of it.

    Unrealistic expectations

All 3 surrounded by excellent non-English players in teams with either a long tradition of winning, or totally dominating their league in recent times.

    Unrealistic expectations

    Totally agree.

    Unrealistic expectations

Thinking about this over a coffee earlier. Where does the expectation really comes from with England, in terms of media and fans? In my lifetime, I compared England to other bigger European countries, and specifically those with big domestic leagues. The comparison in relation to Finals and...

‘We don’t have a natural replacement for kalvin phillips’

You won’t be popular with a few on here writing such sense.

England are a team of individuals

They’re clearly not. It’s a team with too many players struggling to find their best at the moment. It will either click and they will start playing at their potential again, or it won’t and it’ll be a grind. Someone compared England to Real Madrid the other day. A team capable of brilliance...

    Alexander Arnold

TAA can play in the middle but only in a system that allows that. At Liverpool he goes inside and Liverpool effectively go into a back three and TAA can either overload, or is given loads of space to influence the attacking phase. He is not a player who can play in a 2 in a 4-2-3-1 formation...

    Worst team in the tournament

Agree. The players know that too, so hopefully something clicks for them quickly.

    Foden and Bellingham

England need both in the final third so I would stick with both again next. England need to replace Alexander-Arnold. He is brilliant but not a midfielder. He is unbalancing those around him. England need Wharton or Mainoo alongside Rice and let Rice do what he does for Arsenal.

    Worst team in the tournament

4 points so factually not the worst by a long way.

    Alexander Arnold

Class player so I understand wanting him in the team, but his presence is negatively impacting the rest. He has to be replaced by Mainoo or Wharton against Slovenia.

    England's Team today then ?

Fully expect no changes to the starting team.

    Boris Johnson = Desperation

There is a huge irony when it comes to immigration. Rich countries are very happy to take educated or rich people from poor countries. Rich countries then kick off when poor people, without professional skills attempt to better their life. As for Johnson. It’s refreshing to see that lots of...

What a human being. Britain is a better nation for having him as a citizen.

Euros Coverage - BBC v ITV

Shearer seemed to say “ya know” after almost every observation last night. He was very average. ITV have Neville, Wright and Keane who are brilliant together.

Negative media & pundits on England v Serbia

Interesting that Bellingham said the coaches got the build up perfect, and Southgate mentioned working loads on shape and pressing without the ball.
