First record or cd you ever bought?

Good call Roofie👍
Going to see them tonight in TO.
Last saw them 40 years ago on their ”Farewell Tour“ in 1982 at Maple Leaf Gardens.
When you read this [I know nowt about time differences].
Were they good?
I saw them before covid - Zak Starky was on drums.
Rogers voice is obviously not as strong, but the band are still infectious.
Love the Who

Things can oly get better by howard jones from asda thornaby on 45 vinyl

Used to love the analogue music buying experience, still love gong to old school record stores and perusing the vinyl collection looking for gems

I got "Billy Don't Be A Hero" by Paper Lace with my birthday money when I was too young to know better.

First proper purchase was Duran Duran's eponymous debut album.

It’ll be tonight Sunday. I’ll let you know.
Speaking of Zak Starkey, I just saw his Dad (82 and still rocking) with his All-Starr Band this week at Massey Hall. Always a great show with very talented musicians, this year’s edition included Edgar Winter, Colin Hay, Warren Ham, Steve Lukather, Gregg Bissonette and Hamish Stuart.

I only bought my first record last month - a 3LP set of Heroes by synthwave band The Midnight.

Bought a pro-ject turntable used which turned out to be a lemon. Despite telling none it ran fine it needed a new stylus which as an extra £50, but even after that had some issues with it.

Bought a fluance RT-82 which is a really nice turntable in white. Record still had a ton of static on one of the records though so tore my head out trying cables and resetting up the tone arm etc tried it in a friends turntable and was the same so seems like a pressing issue 😂

Only issue I have now is I have a really good speaker setup and a bk elec Monolith+ subwoofer which is absolutely massive. At loud volumes I get a bit of a feedback loop (it's all grounded properly & on a different surface to my speakers ) so going to have to look at building an isolation platform for it to prevent some vibrations getting to it. So much easier to just play it on Spotify through my amplifier but I enjoy the analogue-ness of it.

The 1st Album I remember asking for and getting as a present(or with pocket money, birthday money cant really remember)was the Wonderstuff album in 1991, I was about 7yo.
