Interesting to hear him talk about wanting to put down roots and feel at home at Middlesbrough over being at Chelsea.

Spoke very highly of Aitor Karanka and how he still speaks to him to this day.

Not surprised there was no mention of Garry Monk or Tony Pulis.. understandably impressed with Marcelo Bielsa.

Victor Orta being linked with a Sporting Director role at Chelsea.. funny owld game!

Yeah, we have been strikers away from promotion post Bamford. Muniz & Akpom can hopefully change that!

Gutting to hear a well loved, well liked talented player like Bamford genuinely wanted to play for Middlesbrough and lay down roots/settle down.

Criminal!

Absolutely. We have a long list of mistakes in recent years and he's up there at the top. And yet I still love this damn club of ours.
 
It was Gibson who sanctioned the sale pulis was told to get rid of striker unsurprisingly offers for Britt weren't forthcoming. I have a Lot of time for bamford I remember telling a Leeds fan he would be class for them when it was early days they didn't believe me

I thought we also turned down offers for Gestede at the time?

It’s up there with the 3 points deduction for turning points in the clubs history.

Gestede goes to Leeds for £6m, Monk snakes off to Leeds we get Bielsa..

Leeds drop off the face of the world
 
I was shocked at the time when we sold him, especially for what I called a smallish fee.

It was clearly he was one the top strikers in the Championship in 2018 and our most effective striker at the time.

Pulis devalued him by not playing him on a regaulr basis especially in key matches such as the Play Off Semi finals. I go the impression Pulis was not comfortable with him because Bamford was privately educated and a bit different from most other footballers. The same with Monk too.

There were doubts over could he do it in the Premier League and his injury record was not good, so he was not quite the equivalent of say Toney.
