I file Britain becoming a monarchy-less republic state with religion and the tooth fairy.
Both of those points are your opinion and stereotypical in nature and not quantifiable without substantial polling for proof.I think they watched it because it was a momentous occasion rather than a love for the monarchy. The British have a tendency to view themselves as spectacular, in reality, the rest of the world sees us the way we see Americans.
I haven’t said we would be, just pointing out many don’t support the monarchy as is their rightWhere are your large numbers, did you not watch the footage? You are making stuff up that does not fit the reality. A republic we will not be any time soon
Do 4 billion people even have access to a tv? Highly doubt the numbers reported are anywhere near correct4 billion watched the funeral today what a audience, for her majesty
But it does, you just do not want to see itI haven’t said we would be, just pointing out many don’t support the monarchy as is their right
Didn’t watch a second of the footage but even if 10 million attended it doesn’t make a difference to my point
How? I’m saying plenty of people don’t share your views. Yes probably more support the monarchy that don’t but those who don’t have every right to speak out/protest etcBut it does, you just do not want to see it
Seriously, You doubt that the death of the queen has that little impact?Do 4 billion people even have access to a tv? Highly doubt the numbers reported are anywhere near correct
Absolutely not what a crass patronising statement. She was admired but pretty much no other country wanted her as head of state. I can see most of the commonweath countries are going to drop the monarchy soon. One of the commentators said she was an unofficial monarch of the world,
Did you not think today was great for our country ? Im not massively into the Royals or anything but i thought it was amazing from start to finish and brought most of the country together. Imagine just being a boring republic ?I'd get rid of the monarchy tomorrow. Nothing to do with the people themselves - I was quite fond of the Queen from what I saw of her, and I actually like Charles - but it's a ridiculous and anti-democratic institution. Having said that, when I look at one of the main driving forces towards abolition - Murdoch - my resolve weakens. If he's on one side, I instinctively want to be on the other.
Having said all that, I think the people of our country - and I'm talking specifically about England here - must like being on their knees. You can see it in their voting history and how protective they are of their betters.
1/3 of the worlds population don’t even have access to internet, 1/2 billion won’t even have access to a phone. So no I don’t believe for a second that 4/5 billion people watched it as is being reported. That would mean almost every single person with a phone/TV was watching today and that clearly wasn’t the case.Seriously, You doubt that the death of the queen has that little impact?
I have never doubted the right of folk to want a republic, but there is a time and a place, today was not it.
Viva la CharlesLong live the king
So your view trumps others, i dispute your figures and narative. Protests are allowed, they need to be lawful though. Language used when offensive is rightly shut down.1/3 of the worlds population don’t even have access to internet, 1/2 billion won’t even have access to a phone. Protest should be allowed at any time but as seen over the last week that’s another right that’s slowly being removed
When you said won’t after 1/2 billion that tells me you’re just making stats up to fit your point of view.1/3 of the worlds population don’t even have access to internet, 1/2 billion won’t even have access to a phone. Where have I said that? You seem very upset that anyone dares do have a different view on this. Have a quick look the stats are probably easy enough to findSo your view trumps others, i dispute your figures and narative. Protests are allowed, they need to be lawful though.
