Guessing he’ll be on the bench then, which would mean someone else could be missing. He‘s been the 1st team match day squad reserve (19th man) the last couple of league games as well as turning out for the u21’s the day before or after.
 
Given Akpom is out he must be the back up to Muniz, as Watmore and Forss are not exactly physical
 
Maybe on the bench. I am sure it'll be Muniz and McGree with Mowatt McNair (if Howson is injured) and Crooks in midfield. Clarke, Fry and Dijksteel as the back three if Lenihan is not available..
 
To be fair he has scored goals in the u23s inc 2 in one game and almost scored on his debut.

So maybe he could be a foil for muniz

Sounds like Hoppe might well be playing based on the Gazette article today. Howson and Lenihsn both fit, apparently. Maybe Wilder thinks this is a game for a big man up top? Surprised he would be picked in front of Forss, though. The latter has scored goals in the Championship in the past.
 
Dont know much about Lenihn while at Blckburn but by reports, im on the understanding, he won player of the season & supporters player of the season while at Rovers so hopefully he'll have encountered enough of the big man up front that I think Sunderland play with Simms & he can deal with it
