Sell McGree and McNair….

I'm absolutely astounded that we have changed our formation to accommodate McGree. I could understand changing it to play a player like Juninho but McGree is not good enough for us to completely alter the way we play. He isn't a 10. He doesn't make runs in behind well, his finishing lacks composure, he doesn't defend from the front like a striker should in our system. He drops deep which leaves our striker isolated. He's an ok player but it's not a change for the better and he's not good enough to warrant that change.

I've always thought McNair isn't a good enough player. I'd have cashed in at every opportunity. He's too expensive to be a backup and he's not a midfielder, full back or central defender. He's ok at all of them but not good enough to be a regular starter at any of those positions.

It would be, it would also be good if a new signing was fit enough to compete and have some effect on the game. I've seen signs from most of the signings but mowatt is way off
Not many have had pre season with us.. if at all. It still takes the same number of games to get up to speed.
McNair played right side of defence and was out of position for the 1st goal, WHY would he go so high ? Crooks and Jones to blame also.
Watching the highlights now, we chased shadows , McNair , Howson, Mowatt, miles off the pace .
Overlapping centre backs playing higher up the pitch? Recovery time for slightly older players taking longer perhaps?

If this team achieves anything this season, it will be off the back of McGree.

He is pivotal to the success of this team.
I love how different people look at football in different ways, that's what I love about this sport!! I think at the moment mcgree is the football player equivalent to marmite. I personally wish we'd go back to playing 2 strikers instead of playing mcgree in the 10 role. I think another striker with Muniz would make him a scary forward to play against.

McGree is a proper fly weight dickie dancer - loses the ball far too often, can’t tackle and his shots end up in row Z. McNair was poor tonight but he’s normally a pretty reliable centre back - not a midfielder in a million years though

Thought Mcgree did okay. Linked the play up well to get us higher up the pitch. However his shooting was terrible. If he is going to play that position consistently, his shooting needs to improve massively.

only saw the highlights from the first half but saw the 2nd half. No way is McNair to blame for the first goal. You don't want people chopping people out on the wing 25-30 yards from goal. It was a good goal, yes some of our players could do better but it was good play. Our goal the keeper had a nightmare but made up for it later. I thought it was a pretty even match and a good game of football and a draw would have been a fair result. If anyone is to blame Dijksteel lost his man for a brief moment for the winner, but that is harsh. I though Mcgree played pretty well over all not amazing but had a good game.

Mcgree did alright. Just as he did on Saturday. He's a decent enough No10 and it's 'his position'. Definitely not a CM.

Mcnair is definitely out of form or confidence. He's one who is probably a victim of his versatility. Simply stick him everywhere. He was at fault for both goals (along with others). Also very much cost us away at Stoke.

We will never keep a clean sheet. The defence and CM is so wide open. We have to just reign in the Wilder ball for a week or two and 'get back to basics' and get solid and shut up at the back.

Win a couple of boring 1-0s

If Wilder is going to keep playing Mcgree as a 10 then I would seriously question why we bought Forss 3M Hoppe 3M Muniz big loan £££ kept Akpom an apparently still looking for another. Non of the 4 mentioned look to be lone striker types. Akpom specifically demonstrated under Warnock that he couldn't play that role. I hope it is only a short term solution to cope with the lack of options in MF otherwise WTF are the recruitment dept doing, Wilder included..

I wouldnt disagree with the playing 2 strikers comment, if we had the right players up front and in midfield to do it effectively, but we dont.

Our midfield isnt strong enough to cope on its own when playing with 2 strikers and 2 wing backs, we get overloaded and overran far too often.

I think we have a choice, wing backs who push forward to feed a lone striker and an attacking midfielder, or 4-4-2.

I am loving the look of Muniz by the way, he looks a right handful.

We have a big midfield problems, far too slow, very predictable. Any team with a bit of pace, athleticism etc just runs rings around us.

Certainly be looking to bring in more quality in the CM positions rather than forward line.

For what it's worth thought McGree had a really good game, Mowatt awful, Howson....meh. Options from the bench - non existent.

Only slight saving grace is that it's unlikely we will see as powerful a midfield as Watford until the return fixture ☹️☹️
It's funny that many on this board didn't want us to get Choudhury...he was immense last night. I agree with Howson, Mowatt and I'll add in McNair being poor. McGree in Tavs position and Forss up front with Muniz. Strikers need time to bed in...Wilder doesn't seem to get this concept

I thought Mcgree did OK. He was always busy, knicked the ball off their defenders a few times. He kept us moving forwards with runs and quick passing. He did however take the Tavernier replacement though too literally as his shooting showed he can't hit a cows a$se with a banjo either.

To be honest (the day after) McGree’s general play wasn’t too bad at all but it was his finishing that caught my eye last night and was the main reason I called him out, but I’m not backing down on Paddy

We’d of been in the 3rd div without him at the back under Warnock obviously Warnock played a majour Part of that
If that ref had saw Chesterfields effort was over the line we would never have got to the final. FFS could/would/should means nothing its whats happening now and McNair was shockingly bad last night.
