Thought yesterday was Howson's best game this season after he'd struggled in the first few.

Might help that Stoke were the poorest opposition we've faced so far (including Barnsley), but still.
 
Thought he played very well last night although I do wonder if, given the limited protection offered by the defence at the moment, he'd be better suited to a sitting role rather than a box to box one.

When he joined attacks last night the back three were very exposed and we were caught a few times on the counter.

You can’t say that, he’s a Rolls Royce apparently! Even though most people on this board didn’t want him to get the contract extension when his ran out at the end of the season!

They definetly did want him to like. Majority of fans love him and rightly so

Not making stuff up, just seem to remember people on here saying he shouldn't be given an extension (not everyone obviously).

and I never said I didn't like Howson, just said i don't see what he does, other people do and that's fine, not saying anyone is wrong, just saying i don't see it!

Don't get so worked up cos someone has a different opinion!

I think he's carried on from last season, an important player in our team, for me he's always available, covers the ground well & just does the simple things, all about opinions though

I’m absolutely fine. Just find it strange how anyone can watch a game of football and get it so wrong but yep it’s all about opinions UTB
 
Howson reads the game like nobody else in the team, if you watch him closely he almost at times knows what the opposition player is going to do next. He makes well timed tackles & interceptions. For me that’s what makes him good.
 
Johnny requires no questioning, he’s the one player we’ve got who knows what the f*** he’s doing, what needs to be done and I dare say he’d know how to sort things if he had the power
