Who will play v Barnsley

I'd be tempted to play as few players who we are going to need on Sunday, as possible, other than the back 3 and the keeper. We're light on centre mids and forwards with fitness, and are going to need to keep Giles and Jones fresh as we have 3 games in 6 days coming up.

I'm not bothered about the cups (as we're not going to win them), the league is miles more important and I don't want us blowing it before we get started.

Anything on Forss hamstring?
 
I'd love to see 4,5 young lads start, but i think he'll just play the full bench from QPR whilist resting Steffen and Howson, and Lenihan is suspended.
 
From what I've seen I'm surprised that Joe Gibson and Bilongo are not making benches, st least. Danny Dodds is quite focused and a good defender. These are some of the lads we need to be having a good look at. Wilder is not paying enough attention to the Academy in my view. Lets hope he gives us a nice surprise and a half decent result

Bilongo starting and Gibson on bench in my team above
 
Diego I had noticed.

Gibson was on fire at the back end of last season Bilongo scored again last week too and he's predominantly left footed. Hackney had a cracker of game during the week too Much more of a player than Boyd Mince or maybe even Mc Gee. I do hope he's got over spitting at people no matter how richly it was deserved by the recipient.

I think we all agree that Roberts deserves a game

I think team I have chose has that balance of giving a couple of the younger lads a chance and also some first teamers. I would defo start with Akpom and Forss as they showed signs of forming a partnership in second half before Forss was subbed and would be good game for Akpom to open his account for the season and hopefully Forss to grab another

Hoppe needed to be signed before mid day today to register and so will not be available for Barnsley - Wilder said there would be no signings made this morning before the deadline.

Whether they think it was a mistake or not (it was), they're not going to be unaware that some fans are already questioning him after a shaky game and nearly getting lobbed two games in a row.

If they hadn't made the comment about Roberts being brought in with a view to developing him, I'd fully expect Steffen to be starting tomorrow, but I don't think they'll want to miss the opportunity to allow Roberts to progress and show what he can do.

I know robs said he isn't training with the squad but this is the perfect game for him to play in
