Uche Ikpeazu offer

It’s been obvious for weeks he would move on a free transfer. Do the deal and move on cos he’s obviously not going to be involved regardless of how short we are.

He's been told to find himself a new club. Emphasis on the words "find himself". If the club aren't lifting a finger to make it happen, why should they expect a fee?

I think you're taking that literally - I'm sure the club at the very least have circulated all clubs with news that he is available. It's normal in this situation that the player's agent will be expected to do the legwork, that's what he's being paid for. It sounds like a decent move for Uche and he should squeeze a pay rise out of it as he's only on £5,500 here - although that's still a saving to us of getting on for £300,000 a year. Maybe try to up the sell-on percentage but I wouldn't make it a deal-breaker.

I am, most definitely. But even so, getting his wages off the club's books is as good a result as they can hope for. They bought something it turns out they didn't want - diddums. Tidy up and move on.

Probably not.

A loan would be better?

If he goes out there and does really well it could be better for us?
You could argue that if he goes there on loan, does well, maybe plays some European football(?), another club takes a fancy to him and pay £1m for him, we get £200k... probably more than we would if we were to sell him now.

A lot of ifs involved though.

They are taking the pee a bit not in not offering a fee. Seems like his agent has told them to try it on with us. I think he's easily worth 500K. Turkish teams usually have a bit of money.

Yeah. The fact that he isn’t training with us so won’t be in his best shape probably doesn’t help if we’re actually expecting a fee. If the lad fancies the move then yeah accept and just do him a favour and get him off the books.

If he’s going for free I’d be asking for about a 40% if not 50% sell on. Reduced by 5% for every 100k they stump up front.

Surprised there isn't a championship or league one club who would pay a, admittedly small, fee for him. Showed in snippets for us and also whilst on loan at Cardiff he will score goals and will be a handful for a team playing a specific style.

Forwards are desired and in short supply, the bloke will do a decent job any Division 1 side and most SPL sides. He is 27 which is a peak age for a forward. I don't think we should give him away for nothing. £500k would be useful.

I think he has a case for constructive dismissal, seeing as he is 'not allowed' to train with the first tyeam. I think it isd only correct that we take the offer. providing there is no cost to us in pay offs

Interesting one - Constructive dismissal is often when your pay and condtions are fundimentally changed.

I would guess his pay has not changed (except loss of opportunity or win bonus) and his basic conditions not changed unless he can prove his entitled to a place in the first team squad i.e its written into his contract. I expect he has a physical trainer and medical support from MFC and can mix socially with the players. He could state his status has been effected, but his main status was football player i.e he was not a manager of supervisor. MFC could argue they are helping him by reducing his chance of injury. I do agree seperating from the first team squad training is a mild form of psychological pressure.
