Jorgen Strand Larsen

It does seem like a lot, but to sign a player of similar potential, of a similar age who's already done it in the championship would likely cost twice as much.

As others have said all signings carry a risk. I think this one is much less of a risk than signing a South American too. Much closer to home, culture is very similar and he'll speak fluent English. A step up in standard for him certainly but the style of football will be more like what he's used to too.
I think he would also have to fit our valuation - which he clearly must do. Looks like a bit of haggling over the fee which is understandable from both parties.
"Generally" Scandinavians have fit into the British Leagues pretty well, so hope and risk is reduced by him being physical and able to speak English. And the cold North Sea wind whipping up the Tees in winter - he'll still be wearing a short sleeved shirt.

Not worried at all. I don’t have insight regarding the clubs finances and Gibson has employed people to do this and he’s demonstrated he’s a more successful business man than me so no reason to doubt his judgement
On the contrary, Gibson has a wonderful business in Bulkhaul, but both MFC and Rockliffe are financial basket cases.
We should be forever grateful to Gibson for his funding/loans, but for his football decisions over the last 15 years, not at all.
His judgement has most certainly been questionable.

He trained outdoors at Groinigen today, Dutch press. So probably was Bausor coming home that plane.

I have a feeling he was here for a couple of days, Groningen have moved the goal posts and now he’s gone back. I don’t think he will come now. Go get Gyokeres.

That’s football though. There’s a whole multitude of reasons why a player doesn’t always work out. If the club knew the secret to getting it right every time we’d be challenging Man City this season. Far too many people think Boro have a manopoly on bad transfer decisions. Its a unique type of business that comes with a huge dose of calculated risk. For a club with ambition it‘s pure fantasy to think there‘s a fool proof way to go about it

Definitely sounds like he's wanting to come here, which is encouraging.
Seems a good kid, hasn't pulled a Yakubu and won't pull a yakubu.

His ambition is clear, he feels he's done all he can at Groningen, and wants that next move up, is grateful to them, but really wants to move on. Perfect English too, he clearly doesn't want to go somewhere and sit on the bench, he wants to go to a medium sized club, play, learn improve.

Get the cheque book out Gibbo. he seems to fit all 4 quadrents, technical, physical, social, and psychological

Precisely the reason why I tend not to post anymore, there's a handful of utter belllends on there,

Which ones are the bellends, I've browsed that forum before but not been on lately. They all seemed pretty harmless on 1Boro, I always felt this board was a bit more argumentative.

What a smashing lad...like that...Intelligent...he would be someone that would excite me I think....and forss can maybe be a decent striker...who knows...go get him gibbo...bring him home to the beechwood and Easterside😁

Man United targeting Arnautovic from Bologna does throw up the concern that they'll come back in for Larsen with a bigger bid.

If it's a straight choice between us, Serie A wins out.

It sounds like he's wanting to come to Boro.
Go get the cheque book out and get the deal done, seems a good lad and a good player! Go get him

Quite refreshing to hear him answer some quite awkward questions in an honest fashion. Sounds like an intelligent lad.

He wants to come to England that`s for sure and end up in maybe 5 years time at a top English club

I`d be happy for him to use the Boro as a step in his dreams

10-12 million euros.......get it done
