Dress Codes during match days for the hospitality packages & ideas for kids.

I am flying over for the first time in 3 years & I am hoping to attend the Sheffield Utd game. I am bringing my 6&9 year old kids for their first live Boro game.
I would like to make a day of it & I am looking at the hospitality packages and I am open to any of them. Not sure when we will make it back again so happy to ' go all out' if it makes for a better day.
Does anyone have any thoughts on which option would be the best for kids of that age ?
Also, what do the dress codes actually mean? What is " smart " & what is " smart casual " ?

I wouldnt get too hung up about formal smart casual. As king as you avoid denim and tees your ok. They are wanting to avoid anybody walking in looking like Jeff Lebowski.

Hardwick Bar is is casual. Kids can wear pretty much what they want in there. And it's a decent atmosphere and marshalled by fearsome women.

Ayresome is the best obviously, although its very formal and expensive, especially with kids who arent going to plough through the champagne! You do sit in the Directors Box though, but I dont think Id recommend it for someone going with young kids.
Riverside Restaurant is good, decent enough food and less formal. Its hosted by ex-players, and on occasion a player or manager will come up after the game and speak about the match. You sometimes see a few players kicking around in there too, Howson used to be in there after most games as his parents were always in one of the boxes. You can pay a bit extra and get a stadium tour added in, which I'm sure the kids would love for their first ever game!

Thanks for the replies , this is what the club told me :
"So for our smart dress code I would suggest jacket and tie as you’ve said, smart/casual would be shirt without a tie with trousers/jeans, and our casual would be T-shirt/polo shirt and jeans.
There are also images of the lounges that has they type of attire that people wear on the website if you wanted to look through those to get an idea."
