Partygate

Taking "full responsibility".

Interesting new use of the term. I believe the OED will need to redefine it as "a brief insincere apology then back on the attack"

How anyone can defend him is beyond my comprehension. Even the most die hard of Tory fan boys must see through the charade? I find it genuinely baffling that seemingly many do not.

I only hope that now he's painted himself into a corner there are more, previously unseen damaging photos come out that prove he is an insincere, lying sack of $hite. He has no wriggle room left at all and I'm hoping that Cummings or others have the evidence to nail him once and for all.

It's telling that no-one is questioning whether Johnson did wrong anymore just whether he's going to get away with it, think about that for one second and it is incredible that the leader of the country is defined not by his abilities or policies but rather his capacity to escape intact from behaviours and attitudes that would be the end for other politicians.

The nausea inducing spectacle of a man who has already taken full responsibility for these actions on several occasions without having any concept whatsoever of what taking responsibility looks, smells, tastes or sounds like shows the lip service and contempt Johnson has for each and every one of us.

Beyond Johnson's insincere pathos and total inability to grasp the harm he continues to inflict on the Office of PM the big take out of this for me is the failure of the Met Police to do it's job properly and with any consistency, that failure is complicit in shielding and protecting Johnson from the proper fall out and punishment fitting for his actions and denial thereafter.

Makes sense when the current Acting Deputy Commissioner, Helen Ball has been in a eight year relationship with the previous, now “retired” Commissioner, Cressida d*ck

Johnson will be delighted about the whole affair. He and others of his ilk take a perverted pride in being able to mock the rules. Indeed having everyone know what he has done and lied about merely shows his class privilege to one and all. He is flexing on us.

"Did Johnson never wonder why everyone was permanently ***ed and it was impossible to find anyone doing any real work after 4pm?
How come he never looked at tables weighed down with booze and wondered what the **** was going on?
And the idea of the government’s ethics adviser bringing her own karaoke machine into work was straight out of The Thick of It."

Peter Gibson, the MP for Darlington is the sap rolled out to deal with the media. A pathetic disingenuous defence of Johnson is currently being attempted on BBC Radio 5 Live right now. It is embarrassing and pathetic.

His premise - that Johnson IS taking full responsibility not to resign but let others below take the can.

Reading on twitter that the letters of no-confidence in the Liar-in-chief are now just a kick in the **** off the number required. MP Stephen Hammond's is the latest.
