Simon Clarke

Apparently we need to consider the long hours & pressure Downing Street staff were under during lockdown when considering the findings of police & Sue Grey report. Poor loves.

Yes those garden meetings were hell. The Sav wasn't even chilled and the danish blue was slightly runny.

Another day, another defence of the indefensible, and another example of the sheer stupidity and utter dross that Johnson surrounds himself with, being the smartest idiot in the room does not make you a genius, either the Lockdown Laws the government imposed were wrong or the people working in Government who refused to adhere to them were wrong, there isn't a grey area, it's a digital choice, the rule of law applies to all or none, you either unequivocally condemn the rulebreakers or you stand up and unequivocally condemn the lawmakers for imposing a law not fit for purpose, in both cases the finger of blame points firmly in the same direction.

Other frontline workers under immense pressure and working long hours were not excused from this law, not for them Prosecco fuelled prizegivings or bring your own Salmanzar's in a suitcase soirees, no their rewards were a clattering of spoon on pan on the doorstep of a grateful and thankful public, that even then the Johnson's cultist tried to hijack into support for the a man so ill he could only attend parties 3 weeks later.

The good thing about this is that the SGR is obviously not pulling any punches and Johnson and his lickspittle cronies are on a reduce the harm offensive, Clarke has already lied, and failed, to pass off the Johnson instigated meeting with Sue Grey as one of her creation, Johnson asked for it Grey provided a time and date of availability, and now he's trying to invent mitigation for events made illegal by some of those in attendance. Yet again those with the most responsibility in this country are trying to defer and absolve themselves from doing the very job they were elected to do.

Snivelling little lickspittle will be disposed of when he is no longer of any use to Johnson, just like everyone else.

The lies and double downs and contradictions are all from the Bannon playbook. They create chaos and confusion and keep the attention away from what they're really up to.

It's been announced Number 10 did call for the meeting with Sue Gray having previously denying they had. Just more lies from this pitiful government.

I wonder how bootlicker Clarke feels that his boss sent him out to lie on Breakfast TV, only to counter that lie within a couple of hours and make him look an even bigger idiot than he normally does.

Still he's a pretty experienced liar, so probably not too fussed about it.

Par for the course if you go out as a minister to defend Johnson isn't it? They've all been there. Says as much about them as it does about Johnson that they're happy to go out and be betrayed time and time again.

When Richard Madeley has you on the ropes you must know you've not got a leg to stand on.

Not all of us, though.
