Eurovision Song Contest Final

I think it was an ideal result. Ukraine get the glory and recognition, Sam Ryder gets the plaudits and no doubt huge boost to his career and profile. Dont really think it matters about the songs - nobody will be humming the Ukraine one in a weeks time let’s be honest (or any of them for that matter).

Congratulations Ukraine, any glimmer of happiness that country gets it deserves

What's won us so many votes this year is our governments continual vocal support against the poisonous Russian, IMHO mind

Vocal being the only support. Late with sanctions atrocious with refugees and awash with russian money.

That's nonsense.

Can't stand our government but we've been by far the strongest supporter of Ukraine in Europe.
There's only the USA that has supplied more aid and weaponry.
The Ukrainians and Zelensky have repeatedly acknowledged as much themselves.

We definitely should be doing better when it comes to refugees, but that's as much as we've come to expect with a Conservative government.

How? What have we actually done? Apart from cheap and degrading PR stunts? And failing to help their refugees?

We're providing over ÂŁ2 billion in military aid and weaponry, we've trained Ukrainian soldiers to use the equipment we've sent them, ÂŁ400m in humanitarian aid, ÂŁ700m in loan guarantees.

We've enacted some of the strongest and most comprehensive sanctions against members of the Russian government and elites.

President Zelensky's own words: “We want more than we’re being given, but we’re satisfied.

“We cannot refuse or reject anything during the war from the biggest military aid, which is coming from the United States and the United Kingdom.

“There are many other friends in Europe, but I’m talking about volumes of help and I’m grateful for it.”

He's repeatedly criticised the likes of France and Germany for not doing enough during the same period.

You can dislike Boris Johnson and the Conservatives without trying to pretend that the UK is not one of the foremost backers of Ukraine in this war.

I would strongly question your sanctions comment. Where are you getting that info from?
