Derby , again

While the Derby fans were revelling in Morris’ underhand tactics and dubious management of their club one man was trying to hold him to account and warning of what was to come.

Now that man is being accused of helping to bring the club to its knees.. you couldn’t make it up.

Whilst I hope the club survives I hope it’s a long time before they are enjoying life in the upper end of the football league once again.

We should be so grateful for Steve Gibson

"Preferred bidder Chris Kirchner and previous owner Mel Morris met this morning over the sale of Pride Park and both parties remain at an impasse. *
The sale of Pride Park still remains a stumbling block over any potential deal, with it now being reported that a ground share next season is a possibility. The council have confirmed that crucial talks are being held over a possible purchase of the ground........"
* So they are no further forward?

What interests me is that there's been no mention of any agreement with HMRC. I get that HMRC might be under pressure to avoid being seen as putting a club out of business, but as many people are under pressure financially I can't see why they would want to be excessively generous.

I cant believe how trading and sell-on clauses are still happening - whilst the club is still in debt and ownerless!

+ The futures of a number of Derby County players remain up in the air now that the season has ended. Eight of the starting 11 against Cardiff City in Saturday's final game of the Championship campaign are out of contract this summer.

+ Manager Wayne Rooney says the players want to stay at the club, and many of the players have indicated this, but Derby cannot offer new deals while the takeover saga rumbles on

+ OOC:

Sky reporting that Ashley is back in touch with the administrators today. Still interested.(not sure if already posted).

Talk is that Ashley submitted another offer today that didn't meet that of Kritchner so was rejected. This led to an extension of exclusivity for Kritchner till midnight Saturday to sort the ground situation out. Admin want £25m for the club and Morris wants £20m for that £80m stadium.

buying the stadium for a 1/4 of what they sold it 3 years ago should lead to retrospective FFP reach and penalty points, as it seems to be very strong evidence of an inflated sale. It should lead to a points deduction, but it won't, they got away with it.
