Thank You Sol Bamba

My wife asked me if I had a man crush on him 😂

Inspiration and a fantastic all round guy.

I hope he finds a great place to learn everything he needs to become a first rate coach, and then comes home to Boro.

Just watched his interview and it was quite emotional to be honest. He said we are probably the best fans in the country. There is no higher compliment than that! Sol was respected from day one, not only because he is a true warrior after coming back from cancer. But he is an absolute gentleman and a fantastic example to every young player at the club. Now and again a player comes along and there is just an instant connection/bond. Sol was one of those players and will always be an adopted Teessider in our eyes.

That penalty at old trafford will live long in the memory. Best of luck for the future big man!!!

Radio Tees did a great interview with him (I think it was last season) and he came over as a really caring and genuine guy. I honestly thought he was a carthorse when he first arrived but made me eat my words after day one.

I didn't know he had stayed in lodgings as a child when picked up by PSG.

Good luck Sol in your next adventure.

He’s an inspiration, so glad we gave him the chance of a comeback. He definitely has another season in him somewhere else

took my 6 year old to the huddersfield game for his first ever boro match and stayed back at the end to hopefully meet some of the players. We got lucky and got photos with Coburn, Andraz, Nathan Wood, Crooksy, Howson Wilder and Leo but what i have to say was when Sol came out he took time with every single person waiting He spoke to them as if they were his friends. He asked my son what his name was, did he enjoy the match and who was his favorite player. I took the photo, Sol gave my son a fist bump and carried on seeing everybody else. In that short exchange you can see that he is an incredible gent and a really nice guy. the size of my sons smile after that conversation will live with me forever! (just as long as the feeling of seeing Sol smash that penalty in at Old Trafford from the away end will!)

Wonderful interview in the gazette today, if someone can put it on here finished with these words which have struck a chord with me

"These are my kind of people and this is my kind of area, working class people who are very humble and kind. They've made this last year a very special one for me."
