A mate of mine in NZ has had a trapped sciatic nerve since he was hit by a drunk driver while on is motorbike about 35 years ago. He's in constant pain, but the only op to relive it is severing his sciatic nerve, which would leave him unable to walk.n He's put up with the pain so he's had he mobility to get around, but I don't now how he manages it (oh yeah, 400ml of tramadol a day and various other pain killers)
My mam had it for a number of years in the late 70s and early 80s. I didn't appreciate how much pain she was in at the time (stoic sort), but now have even more respect for her living through it and bringing up us little swines at the same time.
