Very Quiet on Transfer Front

SSN are reporting today that several Premier League clubs are preparing bids for Djed Spence, particularly Spurs. Financially selling Spence would take any pressure to sell others off.

There is not much transfer activity anywhere at present. Mnay deals are done in the last 24 hours.

Quieter the better, surely? I'm pretty certain that things are going on behind the scenes and the last thing we need is potential deals being leaked to the press to alert other clubs.

I'm refreshing Newsnow every 5 mins since the opening of the window.

All I'm getting is reports from Celtic fanboys/has beens claiming "They didn't want him anyway" and disgruntled media outlets trying to bamboozle the 'sheep' with click-bait about how wrongly they've been treated for cheating.

Spence to the PL would be incredible, thank goodness he played a blinder against Arsenal

I am not sure I want anymore, to be honest. I wouldn't want to see the team morale disrupted by too many signings.

My mind went blank when trying to spell signings. Sinings was my first attempt, followed by sinins. Hmm that's not rite either damn. Why doesn't my phone correct ****wit spellings but happily changes "I think" to "I'm immoral"?

Can't go lashing cash about without FFP consideration, don't want to end up a Derby type situation... we'd have to go blaming Mel Morris for our debt..

We don't need many more.

A defender is probably it, as I can't see us bringing in a new goalkeeper.

As things stand are we outside of FFP rules given the amount spent and hardly anything coming in ?

I don't think we've spent that much in the grand scheme of things.

£2-3m on McGree, £500-750,000 on Ikpeazu, £1m on Crooks.
The main question mark is how much Payero actually cost. I don't think there's much chance he was £6m outright, it will largely be add-ons.

Last season we spent £2-3m on Akpom and Sam Morsy on the cheap with them being in administration, the season before we spent £4-5m on all permanent signings.

Every other signing has been a loan or a free, though there's every chance that there are loan fees involved and wages can't be ignored.

Either way, hopefully the rumoured interest in Spence is true and we can sell him this window for 8 figures.
Should eliminate any possible risk, even if there was one.
