Think aussie rules is his passion, but, at the same time, I think he did enjoy being part of it. He always talks about Downings crosses with a twinkle in his eye.

I guess if it's your job every day of the week, for some people watching and supporting football as a hobby becomes too all consuming. They can like, admire, and enjoy the odd game, but living it 24x7x365 might not be some peoples bag. It's not actively disliking it, it's just needing escapism from work
 
He's an International player and probably well into Millionaire status. He seems to have realised his limitations and has opted to train and keep himself fit. Not a bad life and I wish him good luck.
 
To be fair being a back up keeper is a weird one. You are at a club where you can only challange one person... The No1.

You see keepers who have made a 10 year career out of being a No2 or even 3. Keepers who have made 20 odd appearances in 10 years whilst getting paid very good money.

Randolph went to West Ham knowing he was going to be No2. Fabianski had just been player of the season.

So now he's off to Villa.... Behind another superb keeper. It's easy money 😂
