The Riverside

Amazing how the artist made it look like a rural idyll.

More greenery could be planted now , but I guess a lot is left blank awaiting developments

Does anyone have any pictures of the proposed re-development of Ayresome Park prior to the Riverside? I’ve heard they were published in a Boro book, possible ‘Doom to Boom’?

Artist impression in Doom to Gloom. I will try and remember to put it on tomorrow.
Chairman Colin Henderson was workiing on a Wimbledon tennis type approach where with steep rakes you can get a very high capacity in close around and above the pitch.
What might have been interesting is if the NHS had announced they were leaving the General Hospital site a year or two earlier would we possibly have done a Spurs and shifted west slightly.

OK cheers, I'll have a look tonight after work, probably jog my memory as soon as I see it

Yes agree regarding the hospital mind, would have loved to have extended Ayresome Park & kept the grounds name

Just checked & can't find my 'Doom to Boom' book
I thought I had the book, I'm sure I do
I would love to see those plans of what Colin Henderson wanted for AP
