So it wasnt the lurgy...

Hope you get sorted and back to full health soon. My dad had a triple 20 years ago after a heart attack, gave him a whole new lease of life!
My dad too. He had a double and a tumour removed from one of the Chambers and still going strong 28 years later. My son had similar surgery 10 years ago and it's fine also.

Is scarey I know but fairly routine these days.

The day before my dad's surgery the surgeon came to talk to my dad and when my dad told him he was scared the surgeon told him. 'I do five of these a week, what you should be scared of is I open you up and find a reason not to go through with the surgery'

Be well jimmy

Surgeons are Surgeons because of their bedside manner!

Forca LJ
Thats probably very true Mutley. I would guess some patients would like the forthright manner, my dad appreciated it, though it did nothing to stop him being afraid.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery LJ. My brother in law had a heart attack and collapsed after the Swansea game a few years ago. He was kept alive by an off duty cardiac care nurse until the paramedics arrived. He had a triple heart bypass and is back to full fitness thankfully. Once again, best wishes.
I felt crap on Sunday, thought it was just the lurgy. Heart had been going fast, but settled down. Monday I rang work and they said to get a PCR test. I was all set to go but then my heart rate rocketed and I felt awful with chest pains and breathlessness. Rang ambulance and am now in hospital in Norwich contemplating the distinct possibility of heart bypass surgery. I've got Bob Mortimer's book on Kindle now and am reading all about his bypass in amongst his hilarious and touching life story. Kind of scary but I guess needs must.

Guys, take it from me: don't take your health for granted. Don't ignore warnings.

I haven't stayed in hospital since I was eleven and had my appendix out. I quite enjoyed the company of the other three kids in my ward. I doubt I'd be so tolerant of other patients these days.

Good to hear you will be getting a family visit. I remember upsetting my mam all those years ago by telling her that they didn't need to visit me twice a day and that once every two days would be enough for me.

I've only ever stayed one night in hospital. This was due to having a massive cyst on my ****. One other fella on the ward was an old guy with some untreatable illness - it was just heartbreaking. The other was some **** who had broken his arm in a fight and was the most piteous whining sack of ***** I've ever had to spend time with. I actually preferred the company of the cyst on my ****.

I've spent too many times in hospitals here and in the Middle East with my various issues. Open wards are always a nightmare. There's always at least one whinging **** who thinks he should have 100% of the staff's attention and keeps everyone else awake (there were some words exchanged last night, not by me) and there always seems to be an Indian man who talks incessantly and at 100 miles an hour on his mobile.
