Penalty Kick Shenanigans

Anybody else notice the shenanigans that went on after the award of the penalty on Saturday. First off as Paddy went to collect the ball the Posh keeper jogged over and hoofed it the length of the pitch (and rightly was booked 🤡) Then as Paddy walked to the penalty spot the keeper was following him, in his ear and tugging at the number on his shorts (what the hell that was about I've no idea???). And while the ref was trying to sort all that out 2 Posh players were scuffing up the penalty spot. Mc Nair did well to keep his cool, was really pleased to see him send the keeper the wrong way. (y)

It annoys the shoite out of me when a player just runs off with the ball after a free kick has been awarded. No opposition player has a need to do it and should be booked for time wasting.

In all honesty Peterborough were at the shenanigans all match.
Constantly in the refs ear.
Constantly on the floor
Tugging and pulling behind the refs back and the worst of all, God knows how the replacement linesman missed this, but in the 2nd half their number 3 was flying at Tav elbows raised and pointed out on loads of occasions.

Players wrestle for the ball after scoring .
Surely possession goes to the conceding team in order to restart ....... weird.

Was it Tav? that seemed to be arguing with Paddy that he wanted to take it, apart from the keeper hoofing the ball it was that little tussle I noticed most.

Spotted the digging up the penalty spot malarkey, should be an automatic yellow not as if the penalty was marginal Paddy’s shirt was pulled over his head

Yes there was a lot of 'gamesmanship' going on and good to see that Tav was up for taking the penalty, common sense prevailed. I could hardly watch the pen, we deserved that. I missed the second by a few seconds, wanted to miss the que to get out, so watched balls going to their corners to play out time and thought that was it. So off I trotted to catch the train and heard the cheer as I past the burger van.o_O bummer. Nice to see the players reaction to that second, well taken goal great build up and movement by the young striker.

There was some good data on penalties during the euros.

One of the biggest factors in liklihood to missing a penalty was time taken from getting the ball to taking it. I expect this has been widely shared and encouraged. Gamesmanship at its best.

Blimey we don't want Tav taking penalties, can't have another of his 'double touch' specials. 😆

Gamesmanship at its best.
Or worst depending on your perspective.
Listened to the radio today re England's ban and game behind closed doors. One of the journos was bemoaning England fans lack of respect for the opposition. Not surprising when you see the lack of respect some players have for both their opponents and officials.

And their manager is….?

Tav's radar for the goal is atrocious so I wouldn't back him to score a pen even if there were no goalkeeper.
