ITV are awful re. Laser lights in Schmeichel's eyes

Is that a laser?

A laser, by the nature of it's projection doesn't spread much. We've all seen the little red dot from sniper's rifles in film, my experience of using a laser pointer for presentations is that the dot tends to fade as the target becomes more distant rather than spread. When at Glastonbury I have seen when numpties point them at the Pyramid stage and you see a bright dot, not a smear like in that image. I think that is from a camera range finder LED rather than a laser.

Thats the picture i saw last night....not the laser, i must admit I never saw that, but i did see two Casper Schmiechels....I was a bit 2 sheets by then..🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃

Not sure what you mean there Coluka. It was shining straight at Kasper.
Apologies, I agree, when I was looking at it on the telly i noticed a red light behind and wrongly assumed that was the laser, it wasn’t, having seen it all again from different angles it was clearly affecting the keeper. Kasper was amazingly focussed and did well. The fan needs to be found and charged.

How comes these "camera range finder LEDs" haven't been visible on the faces of other keepers preparing for penalties at this tournament? Or have they?

Agreed, thats not a laser, no chance.even if you widened it it would be round and not that weird shape.

How do they automatically know it’s an English fan? There could’ve been anyone there last night it wasn’t just England or Denmark fans.

I’m not saying it isn’t like, just would like to know they’ve definitely found the source before coming to that conclusion.

Press camera range finder?
Flash IR shows up as red & only a close range..

That looked very much like a laser & rightly called out..
The reason for mentioning the range-finders is that green-laser is more expensive than red (not IR) and is used professional RFs because it works a lot better in bright conditions (e.g. a football stadium).

There was a furore a few years back when we dumped Man U out of the league cup and Rooney was 'attacked' by one of these. I remember at the time it was investigated and then that died down after suggestions that it was most likely a press-photographer and not, as claimed, a Boro fan.

That's not to say it wasn't a fan (either time), and if it was UEFA and the FA should find and punish them.

However, the hung, drawn and quartered attitude from last night did away with anything aproaching evidence or fair-trial...

Guardian article on the Rooney incident.

Lots of little smirks between the 3 of them, I think they are amusing themselves and it’s all an agreed act between them to be honest. I like Roy.
If you look at his Instagram it’s genuinely quite witty. He’s knows what people think of him and he is very self-aware. Playing the character he does has made him a lot of money post-retirement. Obviously some of it is based on his actual persona though.

More d***heads taking lasers into stadia - should be fined & banned from attending games.. if they can be identified..
Sorry to drag this back up but I was bored and wanted to query it with someone on that there twitter. Figured it wouldn't hurt to shove it on here as well...

These two hastily cobbled together montages show two short sections of todays TdF with 'green lasers' being repeatedly shone at the riders (and scenery).

The riders were going uphill and round bends with reasonable rapidity.

Either a rogue England fan was running up the mountain ahead of the riders or it was the blokes with professional camer gear on the motorbikes in front.

William of Occam, do your stuff...

It did move onto his eye just before the penalty was taken, but he didn't even flinch. I don't think he noticed it at all.
it's weird that the light beam from the laser wasn't visible in the stadium but yet the marks are on Schmeichel's face. Now if it had been a pen laser I doubt it would have reached Schmeichel so it must have been some other sort of laser. Anyone know what type of body search they conduct and if there's a metal detector?
