The same 8 teams chasing the top few places and usually winning the cups - Everyone else desperately hoping to avoid relegation and losing their teat at the cash-cow - VAR sucking any fun out of goal-scoring - Players who don't care about clubs/fans - Who needs it? I think I prefer the cut and thrust of the Championship where there's less of a gulf between the teams and we have a good chance of winning most games.

Normally I’d agree but this year is the one when the top 4 doesn’t look like the usual names swapping between themselves.

As much as I hate West Ham it would be glorious if they cemented that 4th place and qualified for the group stages of the champions league. Would certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons.
It will all but cement the legacy team idea for the champions league to come as could see Liverpool missing out

I think the Championship is a more unpredictable league and that creates the perception of it being more exciting but I dare say every league in the pyramid is less predictable than the PL because it has no promotion so the best teams never leave.

Overall I’d prefer to be in the PL but only if we had the resources to compete for the top half of it like we used to and it was clear last time we went up that we simply don’t.

I also have no desire to be in any league with VAR until it is heavily reshaped into something that makes some kind of enhancement to the viewing experience rather than to its massive detriment as it is now. There is simply no celebrating of goals anymore, good job the noises are all fake just now.

Easy to say stuff the Premier League when Boro aren't going to be in it.

But come the start of next season, every supporter of a Championship team will be hoping their club is promoted.

It's like saying you wouldn't want to go out with a supermodel because she takes too long to get ready.

The gulf is huge , I have just watched Brighton v Everton and was bored stiff , and so was the sky pundit .
The top 12 are miles in front , Leeds , Villa , Everton , Wolves trying to get in , and the odd one may , with Leicester and WHU doing well by buying well .
I would take a promotion though , it gives you a lift , and provides the financial security for a few years.
Leeds have proved you can go up and stay up with good acquisitions .

Promotion is the only thing posters on this board have been banging on about all season...If you say you're not bothered about going up your not a proper Boro fan...

I think we've been in the top half 13 times in 120 years!

The football in the Championship is horrendous. Our matches have been dire to watch.
That match we just lost was a terrible spectacle.
Talentless players playing an attritional game.
At least in the PL there is skill and talent.

I can't believe people are rejecting the PL thinking the football is better or enjoyable in this shyte league. It's not.

Our owner is the only thing enabling us to play in this league anyway, we would otherwise be completely done. You can't just bumble along in this league, at least there is a chance with PL money.

You are absolutely right which is in itself an indictment of how football is today. To watch decent football teams have to spend millions.
