✔Teesport

✔The Treasury relocation.

What a day for our area. All on the back of three points last night too! There's a lot of excitement around today and rightly so.

Up the Teesside and Darlington! Neil Warnock signing on for another year would be the cherry on top 😁

I'd be inclined to play him as part of a new strike partnership. He can't be worse than Assombalonga.

Rishi Sunak is.... a self publicist I will give him that. Hit Twitter account is like an Onlyfans site.

Let’s just be clear about this, Rishi or any one of his party couldn’t give a **** about the people of this area. Yes today is good news but it doesn’t excuse the decade of misery they have caused many in our region.
In my lifetime Labour have been little better, if any, because they knew that they could avoid spending big in their heartlands because people would always vote them in, no matter what so they could concentrate on buying votes in key marginals. It was commonly said that if a Redcar seaside donkey stood for election for Labour it would get in, no problem. That’s changed recently with Brexit but will probably return to default now.

The last time the tories invested big in this area we got the TDC...it gave us the Tees Barrage, Teesside Park and Teesdale business zone along with houses and university and college sites. Not to mention mass regeneration in Hartlepool. All brought in the region of 12,000 jobs.

Labour got rid of the TDC in 1998... said it didn’t bring anything to the area

The last time Labour invested this heavily in Teesside we got???

Oh Hang on they never did invest in this area.

If the tories bring even half of what they have promised this time then they have my vote... in my line of work I will be a direct beneficiary of the Freeport

And his taxation proposals for business are about the same as Corbyn's manifesto proposed.

You know, the one that were told would see businesses leave the country. We'll see if those shouting that were telling lies in the next few years.
That maybe true, but the circumstances are completely different. There is no way in the announcement that Corp. Tax will be going up without the bill for Covid.

The question just put to Sunak that we've been told that reducing corporation tax would increase tax revenues, something they attacked Labour with in recent elections with when they proposed increases. After lots of waffling Sunak has admitted that reducing corporation tax reduces tax revenues, but the hope was it would encourage companies to invest; the evidence is that tax receipts reduced and didn't invest.

He said we'll still have a competitive rate compared with G7 and other nations. Just as Labour said at the last election. Looks like Tory duplicity exposed again.

I’ve been telling people for months on here the Tory plan is to level up in these borrowed vote areas and destroy any chance of Labour getting back into power by creating generations of Tory voters. It’s a shame but Labour really did this to themselves.

they brought in a brand new state of the art hospital in JCUH and built a shed load of new schools in the area. Unfortunately it was all built on the never never so we will still be paying for them in 70 years time.

They brought us Teesside Park which moved jobs from Stockton High Street to a new location a mile or so away. It transferred jobs from one part of town to another in a less accessible place for many.

One of the big selling points of the Teesside Park development was the new stadium that didn't happen.

The university happened, it has since stopped degree courses there morning them all out if the area to Durham.

Have a look at the TDC and why they disappeared. They were £40m in debt, so where did the money go, which accounts did it go into and where is the paperwork?

How many of the 12,000 jobs remain?

Let's not fall for this papering over the cracks Tory bullshyt again

I was just going to post about the TDC, as far as I can recall it was dissolved because of huge debts and serious corruption.
