Tav

He looked like he struggled second half (knock / or injured), I though he should have been subbed after 65-70 mins. Especially after playing 90 at the weekend

a bit rusty still tonight, but what a player he is becoming. In tight spots he just looks at the other fella and thinks, "I'm so much better than you" and proves it. He'll be great for us if we can keep him

I totally agree. At the start of the season I thought it was a big season for him as in the past I've found him extremely frustrating as he showed flashes of ability but often a distinct lack of awareness or poor decision making.

This year he's really improved certain aspects of his game and is starting to look a real threat.

Our midfield almost looks pedestrian without his energy and Duracell bunny work rate.

Tav was one of our best attacking players last year, he was still learning but he was clearly very talented. Now he is on the verge of being one of the best players in the championship. Another 2-3% out of him next year, assuming we are still here and he'll have all the teams from 4th downwards in the prem after him

Yes, Spence was the better of the two tonight, Tav was poor.
you're kidding, right? right?!

Spence did well in spells but gave it away so cheaply by trying to over do it with the dribbles and turns.

Tav, played fairly well, looked classy with the ball at his feet., made in intelligent passes, and drove with the ball when it was the right time.

No he didn't, he looked off the pace in the middle and lost his man a number of times, he looked like Spence had at other times during the season. Hopefully his injury isn't too bad and he's back from n the side again but he was way off it tonight.

There were only two classy moments for me. The ball from McNair and the run and ball from Spence, who also covered a couple of times when we were stretched at the back.

To think there were fans on here saying he was worth no more than £3m to £5m a few months ago. Not that I would sell him for a few years to come.

Tav is the only player we have who can break from midfield into attack, maybe except Kebano, but he's our player. To me he looks like the only midfielder who is trying to improve his game week by week.

Reminds me of Paul Kerr, only much better.
Where Kerr was energetic and used to get the ball and run around in a little circle looking for a pass... Tav actually can see the pass.
Yes he can see a pass but rarely manages to execute it. His passing is shocking. His passing ability was shown when he attempted the free kick second half trying to play the ball down the line and only succeeded in passing it straight to one of their players. The commentator commented that it was a shocking free kick. Excellent vision by Tav to see it but lacking the ability to pull it off.

I thought Tav, more than any other player, was limited with what he could do because of the pitch. The ball wouldn't run reliably making any close ball control or trickery almost impossible. Sometimes the ball would stick and at other times it would bounce up. Same for both teams and all players but the nature of the way Tav plays limited him more than others.

Tav and Fry have developed into really top players this year. I expected it to be spence and coulson - but there is still time. I think we might have quite a few Gems in our squad!!
