Yusuf on BBC Tees this morning

Well done for speaking out Yusuf. I also don't live in the area anymore so wasn't able to listen in.

Hoping you do go forward with the interviews with the players.

Also hope your mental health hasn't taken too much of hit dealing with everything recently, but you are showing how strong you are by speaking out (y)
Appreciate that mate. Talking about it has helped with the mental health thats for sure.
Best wishes Yusuf - I wish I had tuned in this morning. Good luck with everything. Stay active. Are you going to any of the virtual concourses? I have an invite for tomorrow.
Cheers mate. I hope to be in the virtual concourse for the Preston game on 16th March.

Good interview from Yusuf on BBC Radio Tees.

I hope there has been some change from the people who given him abuse on the COB board. Some of those giving abuse could be teenage keyboard warriors seeking attention at any price or just people who are angry with everybody.

If people make racist comments surely they and the media carrying their message are breaking the law and the police can be involved. Why should social media users be exempt from Equalities Act? If the Police can locate people involved in grooming children on line they can find the racists?

Just listened to the interview online as I'm just outside the area for transmission.
Yusuf came across well and appears to be just a normal chap who unfortunately has been caught up in something very unpleasant.

Could have withdrawn from everything but very glad he chose to finally speak up and it takes great courage to do this on your own.

I hope Yusuf takes encouragement and hope from all the positive support he has received and one day feels able to do these interviews, which I'm sure will be in a new fresh format we would all like to hear.

Look forward to being near Yusuf again at an away day when we're allowed. His unwavering support is something every Boro fan should be proud of and should be seen as an example of a passionate supporter!(y)

Thanks mate that means a lot. Hopefully will bump into you at a match in the near future.

Well done Yusuf, I enjoy your vlogs from outside random railway stations across the country, keep them going.
Haha thank you mate.

Whats ridiculous about it?
Ridiculous that you have had to talk about it. Ridiculous that what was going to be a positive and light hearted feature has to be pulled because you face criticism and racist remarks. Ridiculous that you have been made to feel like this. Terrible really, puts anyone off doing anything for fear of a backlash. I see from your twitter post that you said you expected a few negative comments. At the end of the day we've got a fan interviewing players...that should gain no negative comments. It's sad really and embarrassing that someone makes those kind of comments aimed at anyone.

The Cream always rises to the top and Yusuf you`ve done just that.(y)

haters gonna hate, sadly.

But we should all be held accountable for the consequences of our behaviour, and on line abusers, trolls, fascists and racists need to be easier to chase and hold to account.

The internet has failed as a source for good, as a source of information sharing and betterment of society. Like anything else in human history, the sociopaths, the damaged, the harmful will try and manipulate it for their benefit or just sadistic enjoyment.

There needs to be better traceability of online behaviours. If we want a global platform, then we need to held to account as if we were talking to everyone, so abhorrent racism or spreading of falsehoods should be heavily punished. Laws need to change, they were not defined with the information age in mind, I'm all for social platforms using some government run internet ID (government not having access to anything that we say, unless a specific case is brought), down to a device or account, that ensures traceability. I know there are clear technical and process challenges here, but it's important for the mental health of all, to allow the internet to be a positive environment and influence, for life on the internet to be governed by the same rules as the rest of life.

Keep up the good fight Yusuf, there are plenty of us supporting what you are doing and happy to have you on board this mad rollercoaster of life

Yusuf,

Your love and passion for the Boro has touched the vast majority of our hearts.

Yours is a remarkable story and so are you.

It's not possible for any man to win over everybody.

Not all liked Elvis not all liked Cassius Clay.

They simply ignored their detractors because they knew the followers and fans that they had, far outweighed the detractors.
As does your fans and followers.

Follow your dreams.
Let there be no stopping you.

Love and best wishes from Oz.

Sometimes in ones life you have to stick a toe in the water.... When I was 17 - 21 I was working in a factory at the lowest level, wanted to get to the next level ( teamleader) and was hesitent to persue the challenge through lack of confidence and afraid of failure... eventually I enrolled on a in-house development course and applied myself (attitude and work rate) and within 4 months achieved teamleader.... never looked back, embraced continuous improvenment and understood empathy towards teammates... Got to Operations Director when I was 44. Suffered from Imposter Syndrome most of my working life as well.......

Yusuf, head the warning .... stick your toe in and test the water.....or it may never happen

Yusuf, I've just had a listen, you came across well in the interview and you are right to bring this up.

I'm just trying to get my head around why people are getting wound up by you. You made a good point in the interview about people having a certain (incorrect) perception of you. I think some older people maybe don't understand the YouTube Vlogging generation, I probably don't fully understand it myself!

I follow a golfer on YouTube thats had to defend himself recently after being abused online, I think those that are doing well as YouTubers face a lot of jealousy and resentment because they are getting a lot of attention and adulation for doing what looks like very normal things! Saying that some of the good YouTubers seems to be very creative and are creating good content.

Obviously there's the race angle as well, unfortunately there will be some fans that still see the typical Boro fan as being local and white. If you were called Tommy from Grangetown then that might satisfy some of the idiots.

Some people are still threatened by multiculturalism and when we have a racist prime minister then we've still got a long way to go in this country.

I've said to you before that I hope you still do the interviews because otherwise they've won and you'll miss out on a great opportunity. I would avoid the racist message board and stick to here and OneBoro where generally people are pretty decent.
