These people sat in parks today

Stay home and stay safe! Every journey you make by car or by foot increases the chance of transmission. That is the basic message from the Spanish government now.

The tighter the lock down the less chance of hitting the limits of the medical system. Thus the less additional unnecessary deaths caused.

The figures below show the differences between our two countries over a 6 week period up to 29 March. Numbers courtesy of Google tracking peoples phone locations around the world.

I don't hold with this "what if you have an accident when you're out / driving ........etc.. etc" nonsense. It's just as easy to have an accident when your walking from your home or driving to the supermarket. Also it's well known that most accidents happen at home and with everyone at home trying diy, gardening, decorating etc. there will be far more accidents. So rather than head out well away from anyone to walk in the country you are being forced to remain in what is a known accident black spot .... i.e.. your home.

Just prior to this change in the rule I drove for 20 minutes and walked for 3 hours without seeing another person whilst walking. Since then I have been forced to walk from my front door to get exercise and every day I see dozens and dozens of people walking, walking the dogs, family groups with kids on bike or micro scooters etc. yet this is seen as being safer. Horse $hit.

Doing what you say and driving to a remote place to go for a walk I really don't see the problem. I guess it's just the worry that a lot of people have the same idea and go to the same place which then makes it a problem.

How is he being like that? He sounds like someone who is totally responsible in his actions. It's people gathering in large crowds at the same place that is the problem. Or people like my neighbours daughter, who came with her whole family to visit her mam even though she os old with loads of health problems.

You never know who might be a carrier of the virus that is asymptomatic. That person and the people that they infect might infect you or your family. Please god I hope this does not happen to any of us.

Every time you go out unnecessarily you risk causing an event that will help overload the medical system. Perhaps causing unnecessary deaths.

For the good of all of the people still working on our behalf. Stay at home. To keep them safe.

At least for the next few weeks.

I understand that. My point is how many people are really going to be infected by people going on drives in their car, or driving to secluded spots? It's supermarkets etc that are going to be what spreads it.

This is the one I don't really get. The police shaming people with drones out for walks in secluded spots is ridiculous. Yes they were wrong because they went against the rules, but these people are not the problem.
But they got there got in their cars, that's the problem
I have been obeying the rules perfectly. Just a genuine question. No need to be a d*ck head.
He's not being a d*ckhead, he is telling you something you already know.

No he wasn't, he was being a total d*ck head. I have been out about 4 times this month, only for shopping. I'm obeying the rules totally. I genuinely think if I went for a 30 min drive over the moors it would not be passing the virus on. It's ars* holes like the group I saw jet skiing that are the problem.

Spanishman. My only point is that people are allowed to go out for an hours exercise. For a lot of people driving to a more secluded spot makes more sense than if you live in a busy area. I fail to see what a 20-30 min drive is going to do.

How about you debate my comments Spanishman instead of the bull$hit. It is far less likely to happen to me, or for me to pass it to anyone else if I am miles away from them. Can't you see that ?

Also how about answering Fluffycarpet instead of throwing your toys out of the pram ?

Considering some of your other posts you've come across as a right dlck on this one.

Whilst we all sit going white as condensed milk, we should consider that this virus is a killer. Its not about freedom of choice.

It would be brilliant if I could go on a 50 mile training run on my bike, but I feel for those on the front line and those who have died - including a young baby and nurses in hospitals.

Stuff the joy rides in the countryside and picnics: the responsible action is to stay indoors and think of others. Just for once lets think COLLECTIVELY not just about me me me. Please.

I actually respect the government (irrespective of party) for trying to get the population to take some responsibility. (Without total enforcement).

Personally I think there's far too much "the government should do this... the government should do that". People, individuals, need to have some accountability too.

IMO - obviously.
its not working though

Why is their so many Facebook Karen's when it comes to this point.

"I don't see how this causes a problem"

Nobody does, we aren't bloody scientists or medical professionals. But the scientists and medical professionals are telling you to NOT do it. So DON'T do it. Regardless of how pointless it seems to your own advanced understanding of pandemic control.

Stay home. Save lives. No shut up. Stay home. End of.

The idea is we go out for some limited exercise or essential shopping (if not in vulnerable group). If people start sitting down for a chat etc its not exercise or looks like something you can do at home or in your garden (if you have one).

The one that I don't understand is having a go at people travelling in their car, say to find a quiet spot to walk (more away from people).

If people exercise are they allowed to rest period in said exercise? Just playing devils advocate

like finny said they were all social distancing

Best if we agree to have a difference of opinion on this matter. In my view this is about what people should be doing. For the good of everyone else. Not what the UK rules say you can do. We have different views. Neither of us is going to change. So for the good of my blood pressure. Bye.
