Captain Sir Tom Moore

The vaccine doesn't seem to be very effective in the elderly, not good. 😢

Hope Sir Tom pulls through. 🙏

To be fair Alvez he is 100 years old and has been suffering with pneumonia for a few weeks before his recent positive test for covid.
I imagine he's been quite busy recently too before his illness with his gin launch, book deal etc, need to take things steady at that age.

I hope he gets better.... but I'm pretty sick of hearing about the bloke. Not his fault I guess that he had so much media exposure.

Ye you're right chief shouldn't cast aspersions on the situation, I redact my comment.👍🏻

Also he was doing a gin launch?! What the actual feck?

He’s not had the vacine apparently acording to the BBC. His medication for pneumonia prevented it. Apparently he must have said to his family I want to go out with a bang. He travelled to Barbados over New Year for a family holiday.

Prayers and good luck sir.

Know what you mean, I much prefer hearing about Meghan Markle, Rita Ora or Phillip Schofield.

Sometimes it better to just say nothing.

He’s not in intensive care, fingers crossed he makes a speedy recovery.

He probably caught it from his daughter whoring him out for some event. He did a wonderful thing but at times I couldn’t tell if his daughter was his daughter or his agent...

Also see MPs haven’t missed the opportunity for a bit of free PR for themselves over this.

I didn't suggest that I like hearing about other plastic celebrities either.

Some people dedicate their lives to fundraising, and don't get half the accolades that he's had.... or a fraction of the coverage for their campaigns. It just all got a bit daft with 'Captain Tom'.

People needed a hero in a very dark period of time.

He did a very good thing and was loudly recognised for it.

I can be a very cynical person but even I can’t criticise this English gentleman or any of the attention he has received.

He’s not really a “plastic celebrity“, nor did he start his fundraising for fame or accolades. He was a shining light during the first lockdown and his recognition was thoroughly deserved. As far as I’m aware he’s hasn’t been in the news for months either.

Also, not sure why you had to put his rank and name in apostrophes? He earned that rank fighting for his country. There’s plenty of other people to get annoyed about before this guy, especially when he’s ill and in hospital.
