They have found 1 case. Yes just ONE case in the community ending 9 months of Covid free life. That is what a strict piece of action looks like.
Not suggesting you do but it has a population of 2m has Perth. Also around 3000 miles away from the nearest city. It would be impossible and impracticable to do any such action in the UK.

Yes Western Australia have been the strictest of all the Australian states they weren’t allowing anybody in from NSW even though the latter was under control.Isn't Adelaide only about 2000km away? So 1300 miles, other than that I take your point.
When I was there they were only allowing 75 people a day into WA.

The UK could have taken action to prevent the spread from abroad. It's a choice we made. We're an island state. Also around 3000 miles away from the nearest city. It would be impossible and impracticable to do any such action in the UK.
Vaccination is everyone's best (only) hope. Oz and NZ have done well to keep it at bay with travel/quarantine restrictions but they can't last forever, they need the vaccine as much as we do.We'll never be in the position to do anything like Perth have done because the infection is so widespread in the community.
For all the 10s of thousands of infections we report we have no idea how many asymptomatic or mild cases are wandering about. And they are wandering about because we are seeing the confirmed cases resulting from contacts in the daily reporting.
Our excuse for a track and trace program will never cope with the levels we are seeing so our best hope is to hammer the vaccination program and alleviate the deadly impact of the virus. We can expect to have the virus in circulation forever in this country given the asymptomatic nature of it.
No doubt about that, but I'm sure going forward that we'll still have the disparity in response to any flare ups.Vaccination is everyone's best (only) hope. Perth in Scotland? They have found 1 case. Yes just ONE case in the community ending 9 months of Covid free life. That is what a strict piece of action looks like.
I don't understand. Is she defying the lockdown in Perth then?My sister-in-law lives in Perth and declared to Mrs Chickenrunner that if she was still in the UK 'no one' would tell her where she could go and who she could see. Oh dear.
