I've had this coat for at least 6 weeks

Depends how much Joe. I'd argue that if its only a fiver, the pocket has more long term value. In other words, I'd gladly have paid a fiver for the addition of a secret pocket (with a zip!).

And in this day and age, given how little cash I carry, its unlikely to be be any more than a fiver I'd find.

See that's the big problem with having too many pockets. I have only two in use. Left pocket keys. Right pocket wallet. Anything more than that and you're going to spend forever getting anything done because you'll be trying to find out which pocket you've put stuff in. Look at All Saints. Three albums in 15 years. This is what happens when you wear cargo pants.

I have been banned from using the pockets on my trousers as it does not look good. So it is a man bag for me rather than pockets.

Where do you put your phone, battery power pack and earphones though?

I agree with the "never ever put things in the trouser pockets" rule, even a wallet in the back pocket is a big no no- aside from anything else it can give you a bad back.

The eternal problem of how many pockets are necessary. I love a coat with plenty of pockets especially for work.Otherwise I would definitely need to use a bag.

I will probably need to go down the bag route for work as i need to carry coffee mug and water bottle as well as my wallet, keys and glasses.

More space needed than pockets will allow.

I only use a bag on days when I'm transporting my laptop, on the other days I have both trouser pockets bursting full with accessories, and am constantly on the lookout for new hidden pockets in my parka. Hoping there'll be a few more on this one.

Bumbag idea is a good one Sheriff. If you can revitalise the satchel, surely you can revitalise the bumbag?
