Starmer calls for nationwide lockdown in next 24 hrs

He says he doesn't want the schools to be involved though, so it's not a full lockdown but he gets to ignore the unions.

Why this call for a national lockdown when there are areas that have suffered and have seen reduced numbers of infections ... and they are already in tier 3 and have been for quite some time. I'm fine economically but I know people who are losing their livelihoods and businesses that have taken years to build. As for schools ... it's already a total disaster for kids in exam years.

I just think there is still a massive issue with the young people not following the tier 3/4 rules, constantly having battles with my daughter who wants to see her boyfriend, she states that nobody is following the rules anymore and I honestly think she is right, in respect of many young people, they just don’t have the self discipline to do it anymore.

Why?

Wales has had more lockdowns than any one else and is worse than anywhere else. If you keep beating people with a stick eventually they will snap and take your stick away. Even more so when you don’t have enough sticks in the first place. Never been to a protest in my life but I’ll be going to the next one.

I would rather close my business down for 2 to 3 months to see the back of the virus and while the most vulnerable are vaccinated. It is the uncertainty of closing and reopening and then maybe closing again that is causing most problem and stress.

The tier system isn't working because people are still allowed to travel wherever they like. And they do. Because they are selfish and ignorant, and because the rules are so lax.

Can't be right. I thought Starmer was nothing but an establishment stooge who provides no opposition whatsoever? 😏
Well said festa! 👏🏻

Apparently he was about to resign; when top Tories pray that’s true then labour are onto something with a leader breaking threw.
Pity as well for lefty, momentum & erg
