A yes from me, pairs perfectly. All my southern friends/family think I'm bonkers, but growing it was standard behaviour to get the Wensleydale out.

Years ago on Jury duty in Gloucester, I went for lunch with a couple of the other members of the jury, and when I said I was from Yorkshire, one asked me off the bat, "Does that mean you eat cheese with your Christmas cake?"

I don’t like Xmas cake but who am I to judge anyway. Enjoy your cheesy cake 👍

I love cheese though, bought a baking Brie with fruit last year and it was so good. Been waiting 12 months for it to appear in the shops again.

I'd never heard of this until I met the lady who is now my wife. They always had Wensleydale cheese with Christmas cake.

They also had Yorkshire puddings before lunch on a Sunday

I found both strange but I've grown to love the YP before the roast. I'm 60/40 in favour on the cake and cheese and they also did Wensleydale with apple pie which doesn't go well with my beloved cream. I'll pass on the latter

I have adapted to fruit tea loaf with cheese which I do adore

pay your money and take your choice is the answer or if you've not tried it don't knock it

My parents from Leeds introduced cheese with Christmas cake to me, I love it, but everyone in the south thinks I am mad.

Yorkshire pudding before the roast came from the war if not before. The batter mix fills you up so you consume less meat. If you go to a Chinese buffet, they do the same, all the starters contain batter, so again it fills you up quicker.

Yes please, with Wensleydale cheese. Traditionally served on a New Years Eve when I was a young lad.
Yeah funnily, I don't generally cut the Christmas cake at Christmas, sometimes it's January. I was still eating it in Lockdown this year.
