Astonishing how Warnock can make us look like a good team

Astonishing how Players will give everything for a good manager who can motivate and is very tactically aware as well as great at man managing ; which then turns us to look like a really good team

I was as negative about this lot before the start of this season as any Boro fan has been. I was wrong, clearly know nothing. They are a good team, but unfortunately, it's one short on numbers. Warnock has been magic, he's already brought far more out of these players than I thought was there so far. Particularly the younger lads. Loving Dijksteel atm. He's instilled a lot of confidence in the whole team again and they are enjoying playing for him. Howson, Mcnair and Savile all been brilliant.

We have a very thin squad and if Neil managed to get the targets over the line he wanted in the window or had a decent budget behind him .. he'd have us competing for a top-six position all season with a bigger squad. As injuries inevitably come through winter though, that's when it'll get tougher as we all know.

I'm just enjoying the run we're on and watching us last night .. I know we couldn't score but thought we did everything else very well, a brilliant effort. I honestly can't remember the last time I've watched our players as calm, confident, and enthusiastic as I watched us last night. To go from nearly dropping into the third tier to this in a matter of weeks is already more than I expected this season.

I wish we managed to bring awld Colin in long before we have. Who knows though?? Perhaps we might just be the shock of the season!! :D

Maybe it's because he has no alternative (but to be resourceful). If NW had been given money to spend, he might have brought in two fullbacks and a c/b at great expense, and Fry, Bola and Dijk-steel would still be drifting. Who knows?

Agreed, was going to say the same but thought I'd blabbered enough haha .. bringing in barely anyone could be looked at as a blessing this way too. Who knows. I am just enjoying the response NW is getting out of each one of them really. Shame we're so low on numbers though, as injuries will catch up surely at some point. It'll be interesting to see where we are come January .. cracking job by the man so far. So glad he's with us.

Blackburn were missing alot of key players, but still 20 chances to 5 at an away ground is bottom versus top statistics.

BBC Match Report headline:
"Blackburn hold Boro to draw"

There is a subtle inference in that. Wouldn't have been the headline last season regardless of the actual performance.

It's interesting that out of the starting line up last night, all 10 outfield players were on Boro's books last season.

So it tells us -

1. Warnock is getting far more out of the squad than the previous managers
2. Whatever money has been spent on new players in the summer hasn't been entirely successful. They are either injured or not deemed worthy of a start
3. The big problem from the last few seasons - lack of goals - still exists, and Warnock isn't any closer to solving it than he was in July
To be fair to Warnock he is trying to sort out the goal scoring problem

Well done NW after the Bristol City game last season which proved the end of JW and what seemed like I inevitable relegation I was not sure that I would renew my season ticket if he was given the chance to get us back up. We were obviously massively under achieving but it is obvious that NW is the most important part of the team. SG got it right this time.
